This secluded waterfront retreat is located on the scenic shore of Lac Vieux Desert Lake in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and it makes for a rejuvenating escape for large groups and families. Based in the town of Watersmeet, Michigan, in Gogebic County, the vacation cabin can accommodate up to 12 guests as there are four bedrooms that include three rooms with a queen-size bed in each and a fourth room that has a double over a double bunk bed and two twins over twin beds. The bedrooms all feature a warm, mountain décor that includes hand-hewn log bed frames, embroidered sheets, and wood panel walls while they also come with cozy carpeted flooring and plenty of storage space.
After a day’s hiking in the Ottawa National Forest, guests will be pleased to come back to a comfy living room where they can sit back in soft suede sofas or head to the games room and enjoy friendly competition at the pool table and the ping pong table or over a game of darts while drinks are served from the adjacent wet bar. Home-cooked meals can be prepared in the sleek, fully-equipped kitchen where there are stainless steel appliances including a stove, an oven, a microwave, a refrigerator plus an array of cooking utensils as well as an island, which is perfect for that morning coffee. There is a large dining table for 10 where guests can enjoy sociable mealtimes and the retreat has two full bathrooms that feature a spacious shower, a toilet, and a hand basin with fresh towels and toiletries provided.
Outside, guests can sweat it out at the volleyball and basketball courts or gather the family around the horseshoe pit for an entertaining afternoon on site. The cabin’s private boat dock allows guests to explore the lake by kayak, canoe, or boat while it also offers superb fishing opportunities and in the evening, the lakeside fire pit makes for the ideal end to the day as guests toast s’mores, share stories, and marvel at the night sky.
The property boasts a private dock on the lake where guests can set off from their canoe, set up their fishing poles, or conveniently admire the stunning outdoors of Watersmeet. The hosts provide a boat and a canoe for guests to use and there is also a horseshoe pit, a volleyball court, and a basketball court.
Inside, the epic games room comes complete with a pool table, a ping pong table, and a darts board as well as a flat-screen TV with cable and a DVD player. The property has been fitted with Wi-Fi, ceiling fans, and heating, and there are laundry facilities should guest wish to wash clothes during their stay.
