Glamping at its finest! Our beautiful, cozy Bedouin-style tipi offers an escape from the everyday and an experience in nature to be cherished. Surrounded by lush forest, you may be visited by whitetail deer, squirrels, chipmunks, rabbits or a curious fox! The setting is serene and isolated, yet close (5-7 minutes walking) to our spring-fed 15-acre private lake fringed with gorgeous limestone boulders. The site includes a lithium battery power station for an eco-smart Vornado fan to keep you comfortable on balmy days, and also powers the lights and serves as a charging station for your phone or tablet. While it is not heated, the tipi stays quite cozy on cooler fall nights, and we provide warm fuzzy blankets and down comforters to keep toes warm all night. The restroom is in a cute wooden outhouse located a few steps from the tipi. It includes a modern composting toilet (Nature's Head). It is extremely clean and easy to use. The outhouse also has a small sink with soap and a foot pump for handwashing and such. There is also a stone fire pit located in front of the deck for roasting marshmallows or hot dogs. We sell firewood for $15 for a large bundle or you are welcome to bring your own. :) There is also a picnic table at the campsite and a propane grill with a side burner for heating water in the kettle for tea or coffee in the morning and cooking meals. The lakefront includes a stunning cedar outdoor living area and fenced sand beach for little ones. Quiet hours begin at the outdoor common area begin at dusk and we ask that guests leave the area an hour after sunset for safety and privacy. :) The lake is great for swimming, kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding and offers excellent fishing. We have kayaks, two paddle boards, a paddle boat and canoes that are available for guests to use. We are only 5 minutes from downtown Excelsior Springs, Excelsior Springs Golf Course and 3EX Municipal Airport.
