The local town of Ruskin has plenty of antiquing opportunities, as it, and the state of Nebraska as a whole, played a significant role in the history of westward American expansion in the nineteenth century. The Morphy Lagoon National Wildlife Management Area is an excellent place to go bird-watching. Local species include heron, bittern, quail, pheasants, grouse, grebes, doves, and cuckoos.
