The cabin is totally built from re-purposed and salvaged materials, featuring barn wood exterior cladding, interior walls sheathed in white-washed 1800s boards, wide-plank antique pine flooring, and handmade cabinetry with vintage chalkboard counter tops and barn beam framing. All of these details will allow guests to feel transported back to pioneer times, experiencing a gentle rustic nature yet have all the modern amenities they could wish for.
The beautiful cabin can accommodate a total of four guests, and the open plan boasts of a log queen-size bunk beds, as well as a sleeper sofa. Guests will be treated to a handmade wardrobe clad with antique barn siding with plentiful wall hooks, shelving with baskets, and clothing rod. Additional storage is available in the vintage cedar trunk and an original dry sink cupboard with shelves, which all add to the rustic charm to this fantastic property.
The bathroom features the wide plank pine wooden floors, a vanity base cabinet handmade from early 1900s Wormy Chestnut, a porcelain counter top surface originally from an old Hoosier cupboard. The shower has a history of its own, as the walls are sheathed with large antique slate chalkboards formerly used to teach children in a local 1892 schoolhouse. Quality linens are provided by the hosts.
The living area is part of the open concept and features comfy furnishings with seating around a gas fireplace which makes an ideal spot to relax and talk with family and friends. Guests will also enjoy a large flat-screen TV with full internet connection provided to keep connected with the outside world. The quaint kitchen is equipped with everything guests will need to make tasty snacks or meals, including an oven, fridge, microwave, and stove with all dinnerware, pots, and pans and even cooking spices and oils. A gas grill is furnished for your outdoor cooking desires. When mealtime comes, a handmade cross buck table with seating for six is the perfect place to enjoy a tasty treat with loved ones.
Outside, guests have access to a relaxing porch area with comfortable seating, and of course, the shared six-person hot tub is the ideal place to soak tired muscles after a day of exploring. If guests fancy a treat in the great outdoors, the outdoor barbecue and the campfire are certainly the places to be, to gaze up at the distant stars in wonder. Firewood is provided by the host.
The property is jam-packed with amenities to keep guests comfortable during their stay. The six-person hot tub is an ideal place to relax after a day of fun, while the private lower level patio with a gas barbecue, chairs, and a table makes a great spot to have dinner. This rental even has an "Old World"-style pergola with a fire pit (firewood provided) and seating for fireside conversations and laughs. On hot days, visitors can make the most of the communal pool located in town, only 10 minutes away. Other amenities include air conditioning, password-protected Wi-Fi, a fully-equipped kitchen, cable TV with movie channels, and a stereo with iPod connectivity.
