The Grand River here in Ohio is designated by the US Wild & Scenic Rivers Act as a "Wild River". While there are some mild class I & class II rapids along the Grand River, it isn't referring to the whitewater. The Grand Wild and Scenic River represent some of the finest examples of a natural stream to be found anywhere in Ohio. Due to its rugged topography, the Grand River has not until recently felt the influences of urbanization.
