Redfield

Located in the northeast of South Dakota, not far from its borders with North Dakota and Minnesota, the small town of Redfield, has been called the “pheasant capital of the world” for its popularity with game bird hunters, whereas anglers will also enjoy the region’s access to a number of lakes such as glacial Lake Kampeska with its beaches and populations of bass and perch. The latter body of water will be familiar to lovers of the work of local artist Terry Redlin, voted America’s most popular artist, whose museum can be found in nearby Watertown, along with a number of charming shops and eateries, while the town of Tulare offers parks and picnic areas. Whether you have come to enjoy the great outdoors or are just looking for a place to relax and breathe clean prairie air, Redfield makes a good base to explore the area.
