About this place
**Please read the entire listing!**
This is a glamping silo, please dress for the weather and come prepared for a rustic experience.
The Silo from floor to rooftop stands nearly 40 feet and has 4 floors and a loft with a bed. 4 floors are accessed with a cleverly engineered spiral staircase. A spiral staircase reaches the 4th floor while the 5th level is accessed by a 6 foot ladder. The 4th floor is a unique space with 6 large opening windows that reveal a 360° view of the farm and wildlife reserve land. Geese, sandhill crane, deer and turkey are quite often heard and seen. Bring a book, watch a movie, take in the views and fall asleep to a closer view of the stars.
Please note*
The loft on the 5th level is not well suited for individuals over 6 feet tall. The space is cozy, nestled in the peak of the Silo above the windows. Accessed by a custom engineered folding ladder. The space is just large enough to fit a queen-size memory foam mattress, flat screen TV and DVD player. It has A/C for the hot days and a space heater for the cold days.
The bathroom is a converted milk-house with hot running water just steps from the silo entrance (seasonal, will be closed before first freeze). A recently renovated outhouse is used during colder months. Going as "Green" as possible, we went with a farm/industrial vibe using re-purposed material; galvanized steel, copper pipe and old barn wood. Perhaps the most interesting feature about the Milkhouse bathroom is that the water supply is entirely harvested rainwater from the barn roof. A first flush diverter system and a series of filters purify the rainwater before it enters the Milkhouse. Rainwater is good for your hair! At least thats what my granny told me :).
In the lower barn (attached to the Silo) kitchen basics are provided.

The cozy 5th floor/loft houses a queen size bed.
Please note*
Additional charge for groups larger than 2, we provide a queen size air mattress with additional bedding for guests to set up on the 4th floor.

Glampers will adore sitting in their hammock swing and surveying the gorgeous grounds with a hot cup of coffee from the French press. There is a delightful fire pit with seating, which is ideal for storytime in the evenings. Glacial Drumlin Trail, one of Wisconsin's very best biking trails, is extremely close to the tower. There are also trails for snowmobiling and even cross-country and downhill skiing options less than an hour away. Just eight minutes from the tower sits Bark River, where guests can go kayaking or canoeing on its calm waters. Since the tower sits between Milwaukee and Madison, big city restaurants, movie theatres, bars, cafes, and more are all within an easy distance.
