Southern Colorado is a picturesque region that attracts visitors from near and far. The Pagosa Springs area is home to endless acres of various mountain peaks, running rivers, and amazing national forests. San Juan National Forest and mountain range, Rio Grande National Forest, and Navajo State Park are just a short drive away and offer excellent trails and terrain for walking, hiking, horseback riding, mountain biking, mountaineering, mountain climbing, wildlife watching, and practicing photography. The famous natural monument of Chimney Rock is less than an hour drive to the west and is an interesting location for an enlightening day trip. Other activities that can be found in the area are hot air balloon rides, golfing, and exploring on ATVs.
The property itself sits adjacent to the Martinez Creek with the neighboring San Juan River close by, so glampers who love being on the water can go swimming, kayaking, canoeing, paddle boarding, fishing, and rafting. Fishing charters can be accessed within minutes of the property, so guests do not have to travel far to cast a line. As the weather becomes cold, snow falls and the mountain resorts open their doors. Downhill skiing and snowboarding are popular sports on the mountains, while snowshoeing, cross-country skiing and riding snowmobiles are popular on flatter terrain. When the lakes and streams freeze, locals love to practice ice skating or spend the afternoon ice fishing.
The tree house is located just a short walk away from a pristine lake stocked with trout and bass. After soaking in the on-site hot tub, guests can try the famous hot springs in Pagosa. An abundance of outdoor activities make Pagosa Springs a nature lover's paradise. Lake species include rainbow trout, brown trout, largemouth bass, perch and others. From the huge deck, there is a greater than 180' view of mountains, and a telescope (with stand) is provided for better viewing.
