This lakefront cottage rental is located on Sebasticook Lake, Maine, and can accommodate four guests for a peaceful lakeside getaway, replete with gorgeous sunset views. The cottage has one bedroom and one full bathroom. In the bedroom, guests will find a full-size bed with a quilt and a nightstand, which are surrounded by wood-paneled walls and set on a hardwood floor, creating a cozy atmosphere in which to rest. There is also a sofa bed on which guests can sleep. In the bathroom, guests will find a toilet, a sink, and a shower. Linens and towels are included.

In the glassed-in porch, guests will find a sofa, two armchairs, and a drop-leaf table set on another hardwood floor and illuminated by ample natural light from the array of windows that wrap around the room. The fully-equipped kitchen comes with an oven, a stove, a microwave, a refrigerator, and a coffeemaker. Other amenities include a television, a water system, and a water and dryer.

With Sebasticook Lake just footsteps away from the cottage, guests will be well-positioned to enjoy a variety of activities on the lake's 4,537 acres of water, such as swimming, kayaking, canoeing, boating, sailing, water skiing, and fishing for largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, white perch, yellow perch, black crappie, and chain pickerel. The lake and its surroundings also provide opportunities for birdwatching, with species such as great blue herons, loons, ducks, eagles, and ospreys to be seen.

For the enjoyment of the great outdoors on land, guests will find trails for hiking, biking, snowshoeing, and cross-country skiing at Frye Mountain State Game Management Area and Bangor City Forest. At the latter, guests will also find opportunities for wildlife viewing amid bogs, meadows, wildflower-dotted woodlands, and a pond that are home to beavers, porcupines, snowshoe hares, barred owls, black bears, coyotes, and white-tailed deer.

For shopping and dining, guests will find a variety of options in downtown Newport, with more options to be found in Bangor, which about half an hour away.
