Guests can enjoy a family-style cooked breakfast at the dining table before grabbing a towel and heading out for the beach. Wellfleet and the surrounding beach towns have endless miles of lush beaches, with bay and ocean waters to choose from. Guests can even launch a boat and sail with the ocean breeze.
Many enjoy learning about the historic roots that surround Cape Cod in the many museums, monuments, and lighthouses. The Cape Cod Rail Trail is a great way to explore the Cape from the saddle, providing cyclists 22 miles of scenic bike paths from Wellfleet, through Eastham, Orleans, Brewster Harwich and culminating in Dennis.
Wellfleet also offers the all-American Drive-in experience with a mini-golf course, and a playground to play on between screenings of classics and double features. If guests get there well before sundown, they'll be able to park in the best spot and load up on traditional movie snacks.
For travelers looking for a big-city day trip Boston is surprisingly close, what would be a two and a half hour drive is cut in half. The Fast Ferry from Provincetown harbor to Boston dock on a high-speed catamaran in just 90 minutes. The trip is great for shopping and sightseeing before heading back to the coast and the cabin to watch the sunset over the water.
