This peaceful cottage is located in Brookfield, Vermont, and can accommodate four guests for a getaway to a 227-acre Christmas tree farm laced with trails and a short path leading right to Twin Ponds, where guests will find a rowboat, a pedal boat, a diving float, and a small sandy beach for their private use. Here, guests can enjoy plenty of activities and reconnection to the great outdoors without leaving the property, while at the same being centrally located in relation to a number of towns, ski areas, and attractions in central Vermont.
The cottage has two bedrooms and two full bathrooms. Each of the bedrooms is furnished with a full-size bed, a closet/wardrobe, and a bureau. One of the bedrooms contains a shower, while the other one features a combination bathtub/shower.
In the open plan living area, guests will find a sofa, an armchair, and a coffee table arranged around a fireplace and a high definition television with a Blu-ray player and internet streaming video capability. The dining area seats four at a round table. The fully-equipped kitchen comes with an electric oven and stove, a full-size refrigerator, a microwave, a toaster, and a coffeemaker.
Other amenities include Wi-Fi, a small collection of DVDs, window fans (for the occasional spell of hot weather), a charcoal grill with cooking tools, equipment for playing croquet and badminton, and a washer and dryer. Outside, guests will find a screened porch with seating and a table from which they can enjoy views of Twin Ponds.
Inside the cottage, guests will enjoy amenities such as a Wi-Fi, a high-definition television with a Blu-ray player and internet streaming capability, a fireplace, a full kitchen, and a washer and dryer in the large bathroom. Outside, there is a screened-in front porch from which guests can enjoy views of Twin Ponds.
At the ponds, guests will find a 12-foot aluminum row boat with oars, a fiberglass pedal boat, two large tubes, a 12'x12' diving float, a small sandy beach, a children's 12-foot by 12-foot sandbox, a grassy area where they can sit or fish, and a picnic table with umbrella where they can enjoy meals while watching the geese and ducks floating on the pond.
The property also contains open grassy spaces where guests can play croquet and badminton with equipment provided by the host. Guests will also enjoy access to a charcoal barbecue grill. Last but certainly not least, the 228-acre Christmas tree farm on which the cottage is located is laced with trails and gravel roads on which guests can go hiking, cross-country skiing, and snowshoeing.

We change all bedding and follow a check list to ensure that surfaces are disinfected prior to your arrival. We check you in with mask and social distancing. We notify you before picking up trash and recyclables on Wednesdays. We are available to answer questions or solve problems but leave you to yourselves to enjoy the ponds, the cottage and the solitude. If you have special requirements, please let us know as you request a reservation. This is the only rental unit we have and there are no shared spaces.

Guests can enjoy plenty of activity options right on the 228-acre Christmas tree farm on which the cottage is located. After walking down the short path that leads through the surrounding woods to Twin Ponds, guests can go paddling, tubing and pedaling with the provided rowboat and pedal boat, diving off the 12-foot by 12-foot float, swimming at the small sandy beach, and fishing from the grassy area—or they can simply sit at the picnic table, enjoy a meal together, and watch the geese and ducks peacefully floating on the surface of the 16-acre pair of connected ponds.
Guests can go hiking, cross-country skiing, and snowshoeing on the gravel roads and trails that wind through the farm's property, with tours of the farm available from the hosts as well. Last but not least, guests can play croquet and badminton on the property's open grassy areas with equipment provided by the host.
The lightly traveled country roads that surround the farm are well-suited for walking and biking, and guests will find more opportunities for hiking at nearby Ainsworth State Park, where they can see spectacular waterfalls and a basalt monolith.
For downhill skiing, guests can hit the slopes at five ski areas within an hour's drive of the cottage: Stowe, Killington, Pico, Mad River Glen, and Sugarbush. Golfers will also find many nearby golf courses at which they can tee off, including Northfield Country Club, Montague Golf Club, Green Mountain National Golf Course, and the Country Club of Barre.
For dining, shopping, and entertainment, guests will find a variety of options in the surrounding area, with five towns and cities located within a 15- to 30-minute drive of the cottage, including Montpelier, the state capital.
