The small settlement of Mount Holly is located in the south of Vermont, nestled amid the wooded dales and rugged uplands of the Green Mountains. An excellent destination for winter sports enthusiasts, thanks to its location near resorts such as Killington, home to the second largest vertical drop east of the Rockies, family-friendly Okemo, and Mount Stratton, the first resort in the US to permit snowboarding, it will also appeal to hikers thanks to its proximity to the famous “Long Trail” which passes nearby. The less active, in search of the rustic charm and tranquility for which rural New England is famed, will wish to visit nearby settlements such as Manchester, which combines history with boutique shops and Old World atmosphere, or Ludlow with its numerous eateries.
