This family-friendly suite rental can be found in a beautifully historic 1790s lodge near the Green Mountain National Forest in Vermont. The master bedroom is furnished with a queen-size bed, as well as a fireplace to keep guests warm and cozy. In the adjoining room, guests will find two twin day beds that can be used as sofas if this space is not needed to sleep extra guests. The suite comes with a private bath and shower, and linens will be provided. For a touch of luxury, guests will find Crabtree & Evelyn spa products, along with Wi-Fi, climate control, a flatscreen TV, and down pillows. This accommodation is wheelchair accessible. Breakfast is included with each stay.

Complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi is available throughout the property. Guests will find a breakfast room, which can seat up to 30 people, and the great room, where guests can snuggle up next to the cozy wood-burning fireplace, get a drink from the on-site pub, and sit out on the spacious covered porch with plenty of seating for large gatherings.

The property has its own barn which is home to goats, pigs, and sheep, giving a true countryside feel. As well as this, there is a games room featuring a pool table for guests to have some fun. In the summer evenings, guests can sit around the outdoor fire pit and enjoy some s'mores. The vast grounds offer guests a selection of different walking trails to take in the fresh air and stunning scenery.

This is a non-smoking property. If guests are found to be in violation of this, they will not receive the $100 cleaning fee deposit back.

Check-in is from 3 p.m.until 9 p.m. If guests plan to arrive later than 9:30 p.m., they should call ahead to make a special arrangement. Check-out is at 11 a.m. A deposit is required at the time of booking equivalent to 50% of the total stay. If guests would like to request extended stays or group reservations, they should call to discuss options and requirements.

The property has a full liquor license, which according to Vermont Law, prohibits guests from bringing their own alcohol purchased elsewhere to be consumed on the property. The pub offers plenty of alcoholic beverages for guests to enjoy. This property is currently not pet-friendly.

A cancellation notice of 14 days prior to the arrival date is required for a full refund of the deposit, minus the $25 processing fee. If a booking is canceled after this date, the deposit may be refunded if the room is able to be re-rented for the full reservation period.

For reservations booked during peak periods and holidays, there will be no refund of guests deposit for cancellations made within three days of initial check-in. For group reservations, special policies apply and so guests must call to discuss stay options and requirements.

The rates vary according to the season. Prices for events and food and beverage services are customized for each client. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are available, and sample menus can be provided upon request.

The property itself hosts a weekly Pub and Live Music night, each one offering something as special as the one before, and allowing guests to enjoy a lovely evening together. Sunderland and the surrounding area offer a host of different events and activities to make the most of their time here.

Summer is spectacular in south Vermont with so much greenery and wildlife, guests can explore the outdoors by hiking and biking on the paths around the property and also the nearby Merck Forest, the Equinox Preserve and the Hike Lye Brook Falls, all within driving distance. The Battenkill bike shop is also a great place for guests who want to rent bikes. For those into fishing, the Orvis Flyfishing school is perfect for a day on the lake, and here guests can take lessons, and hire clothes and equipment. Alternatively, if guests fancy a round of golf they can visit one of the several impressive clubs including the Mt. Anthony Country Club, Equinox, and the Manchester Country Club. There is no better time than summer to take advantage of the scenic lakes and ponds, guests can take a dip in the Dorset quarry, the Hapgood Pond, and the Emerald Lake. For the adventurous soul, the Battenkill can be explored by tubing or canoeing, as well as summer adventure parks to keep the kids entertained.

In the warmer months, the neighbouring towns of Dorset and Manchester offer pick-your-own orchards and farmers markets where guests can try the delicious local produce. If guests are into something a little more cultural, they can check out the Bennington Museum, the Lincoln Estate, the American Museum of Fly Fishing, and the Southern Vermont Arts Center. Guests can also enjoy an original performance at the Dorset Theatre Festival and the Weston Playhouse, and a 45-minute drive to the south takes guests to The Williamstown Theater for a wonderful evening outing.

The hosts are happy to recommend a plethora of excellent restaurants and dining experiences, depending on guests preferences, including the local cheese trail. Guests can get to know their surroundings with a guided tour, and the Backroads Discovery Tours is particularly recommendable. For art lovers, they will appreciate the fantastic displays at the Epoch, Tilting at Windmills, and Helmholz Fine Art, along with the American Quilts and 3 Pears Gallery.

During the winter months, snowsports enthusiasts can visit both the Bromley and Stratton Resorts for skiing and snowboarding with slopes for all abilities and both within a short driving distance. At Hildene, Wild Wings, and Stratton’s Nordic Center guests can try cross-country skiing and hire snowshoes for some outdoor adventures. A definite must-do is a visit to the Riley Rink in Manchester, which is a world-class skating rink where guests can also take a horse-drawn sleigh ride or even a dogsled tour.
