Located in Miloli'i, just 30 miles from Kona, Hawaii, this beachfront bungalow can comfortably accommodate four guests. The waterfront bungalow is perfect for adventurous couples looking to strap on their snorkeling masks or lace up their hiking boots to experience all of the natural wonders the island has to offer. The newly built, one bedroom, one and a half bathroom purple retreat sits on a plot of black sand looking out over the stunning blue bay, giving guests a great view to wake up to each morning.

In the bedroom, visitors will find a queen-sized bed covered in a beautiful brown and blue flowered comforter with matching blue and brown window treatments on the two big windows. Bedside tables with lamps atop them keep the room feeling warm and cozy at night. The bathroom features a large bathtub/shower combination with a darling turtle shower curtain to continue with the beach theme present throughout the rest of the bungalow, along with a toilet, a sink, and a small window. Linens and towels are provided, and a washer/dryer can be found downstairs in the half-bathroom that also contains a toilet, a deep sink, additional storage, and extra beach gear for guests in need of umbrellas, chairs, and/or life jackets.

The living room provides a spacious area for guests to stretch out on the floor or curl up on the queen-sized futon sleeper sofa while watching a movie on the flat-screen television that sits catty-corner to two windows overlooking the water. A wooden writing desk rests against the wall, should guests need a place to write postcards describing the fantastic sights and sounds of Hawaii. Next to the desk, a sliding glass door opens out to the upstairs porch that overlooks the black sand terrain and out across the blue-green water, and hosts one round high-top table with four chairs sidled up next to it, and a clean grill for whipping up gourmet meals while admiring the sunset in the evenings or whales breaching during the day. The view from the porch is unbeatable, especially when combined with delicious food and impeccable company.

Just off the living room, visitors will find the beautiful fully equipped kitchen that sports brand new wood cabinets, shiny stainless steel appliances like a double door refrigerator with a freezer, an oven, a stove, and a microwave, along with a toaster, a coffee maker, cutlery, and a few pantry items to help guests settle into their new beachfront home away from home. A large window above the sink opens up to let fresh ocean air flow through the bungalow, and a breakfast nook in the kitchen fosters a great environment for guests to prepare a meal and then sit down to enjoy it together. The kitchen also has a water cooler for guests to fill up their bottles and stay hydrating before hiking the sandy shores or swimming out into the salty sea.

Along with the half-bathroom downstairs, guests will find an outdoor shower, hidden by two walls of privacy bamboo, so that guests may rinse sand off with ease. The ground level of the house also features space for guests to park their car under the cover of the house, with enough extra room beside it to house a small table with two chairs for relaxing closer to the sand before heading inside for the day.

Facilities at the newly constructed bungalow include a barbecue grill on the deck outside, for grilling delicious foods with a great view, and plenty of parking around the quiet property. Linens and towels are provided, and the rental has a washer/dryer for guests to tend to their laundry needs. Wi-Fi is accessible throughout the bungalow. Tranquil Miloli'i offers guests peace and relaxation that is often hard to come by. Tucked away in a residential neighborhood, the nearest stores and gas stations won’t be found until guests reach Oceanview, a town that is 20-25 minutes away by car. Oceanview has two grocery stores, a gas station, a gift shop, a hardware store, a pizza restaurant, a bar and grill, and a barbecue joint, so if guests choose to venture in, they will be more than able to stock up on goods to bring back to the bungalow.

Once settled in, guests should be sure to wander just five minutes from the rental to the waterfront rock that boasts some of the best local snorkeling and swimming on the whole Big Island. Guests will have the chance to peer through the crystal waters and see some of the unique wildlife and underwater plants that call Hawaii home.

Just ten minutes from the rental, down a slow island road, guests will be able to investigate a state beach park for an easy day out on the water, walking up and down the shore. Miloli'i is also just 60 miles from the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, home to the Kīlauea and Mauna Loa active volcanoes. Guests who visit the national park will come across many unique opportunities such as backcountry hiking to the summits, embarking on day hikes of the area, driving the 20 mile Chain of Craters Road, or take the Crater Rim Drive Tour. As some of the best jaw-dropping natural wonders of the world, these Hawaiian volcanoes are not to be missed.

Hiking in the area is incredible and should be at the top of every visitor’s list since it is so accessible and there are so many amazing spots to hit once out on the trails or just freely exploring the terrain. A twenty-minute walk amongst coconut palm trees, through patches of jungle, across lava fields and past burial grounds, will land guests at Honomalino Bay, a stunningly long and wide beach with thick sand overtop rock pebbles. On a calm day at the bay, swimming is great, and guests who make it early enough may be able to see dolphins splashing about in the tide.
In under an hours drive, guests could also explore Mahana Beach, home to one of only four green sand beaches in the entire world.
