In nearby Kealakekua Bay, water-based activities are the specialty. There are kayaking and paddle boarding classes, many places to rent gear, and boat tours, which will take glampers snorkeling, scuba diving, and dolphin watching. It's also possible to rent a jet ski, which is ideal for guests who are looking for thrills and excitement. Only a few miles from the property, guests can discover the rich history of the region, at the Kona Coffee Living History Farm. The museum tells the story of Kona’s coffee pioneers during the early 20th century. In a self-guided experience, glampers will be free to walk among the coffee trees and visit the original 1920s farmhouse. A must-see attraction for any visitor to this region has to be Captain Cook's Monument, within the Kealakekua Bay State Historical Park. This was the site of the first extensive contact between Hawaiians and Westerners with the arrival of Captain Cook in 1779. The park has facilities for picnics and is a great place to spot local wildlife. In addition, it is a haven for snorkeling, with its calm, clear waters.

One of the most popular local pastimes in all of Hawaii is surfing. There are many great places to surf within easy reach of the property.
