About this place
This spectacular riverside cabin is located on the upper side of Sacramento River in Castella, California, 12 miles south of Mount Shasta and four miles south of Dunsmuir and can accommodate up to six guests.
It was built around 1904 with two bedrooms and two full bathrooms. The master bedroom has a queen-size bed with an attached bathroom that features a toilet, a sink, a shower, and claw foot bathtub. The second bedroom also has a queen-size bed, and there’s more sleeping space with the double-size roll-a-way bed and sofa. The second bathroom features a toilet, a sink, and a shower. Linens and towels are provided.
In the living room, guests will find a sofa, armchairs, and the coziest and inviting environment provided by the wood burning stone fireplace. There are also plenty of books and games available to read or play on the new HDTV, with a Nintendo Gamecube console and DVD player.
The fully-equipped kitchen comes with a stove, a refrigerator, a microwave oven, a coffeemaker, a toaster, basic cooking utensils and a dining table. Other amenities include Wi-Fi available only for basic use, a washer and dryer (glampers must bring their own detergent), a hair dryer and an iron and board set.
Outside, there is a deck with patio furniture, a picnic table and barbecue area, an outdoor grill, and large lawn slopes down to the river. There’s also plenty of parking space off street.
This cabin has a large deck with patio furniture from where glampers can enjoy the wildlife of the area that sometimes drops by for a visit. It also comes with an outdoor grill and a picnic table to enjoy barbecues and grilled fish, just out of the river.
Nevertheless, the most striking features of this cabin are the large lawn slopes and its private access to a Blue Ribbon trout stream, which is easy to get to and includes a beach area for sunbathing.

Hikers and mountain bikers will have access to many trails and slopes with the most amazing views of the Cascades, where watersports are a must. And the fun doesn’t stop during the winter, as there are many trails for snowboarding, cross-country skiing, and snowmobiling. The area is friendly for new ATV users, and it also has several golf courses and tennis and basketball courts.
Glampers who are into history, museums and railroads will also have plenty to enjoy here. This is definitely a place to visit more than once.
