The small community of Prospect is located in Jackson County, Oregon, roughly 70 miles north of the California border. Perched beside Rogue River, right at the edge of Umpqua National Forest, this spot is an idyllic place to escape and enjoy nature. There are many great locations for hikes, both short and long - Prospect State Scenic Viewpoint is the closest, while Union Creek Trail is just a short drive up the road. For more of a challenge, nearby Crater Lake National Park has plenty of suitable routes to tempt the experienced hiker, including Union Peak. Those who prefer to spend their time near water can head to Lost Creek Lake, Rogue River Gorge Viewpoint, or one of the local waterfalls such as Mill Creek Falls and Pearsony Falls.
