About 25 minutes to the north, guests will find Deception Pass State Park, where they can explore miles of beachfront, tide pools, coves, cliffs, and thousands of acres of forest laced with multi-use trails and dotted by three lakes. For dining and shopping, guests will find a few options in downtown Coupeville, which is about seven minutes away. For more options, guests can head to Anacortes, which is about 40 minutes to the north. Here, they will also find the Anacortes Ferry Terminal, where they can catch a ferry to explore the rest of the San Juan Islands.
The cabins are about an hour and 40 minutes from Seattle, where the nearest international airport is located.
- Wildlife watching
At nearby Fort Ebey State Park, guests can go hiking and biking on more than 24 miles of trails, which include a portion of the Pacific Northwest National Scenic Trail. The park is also a popular area for fishing, beach-combing, birdwatching, and paragliding.
For more outdoor activity options, guests can head up to Deception Pass State Park, where they will find 38 miles of hiking trails, six miles of horseback riding trails, and three miles of biking trails. While exploring the trails, guests will find more opportunities for birdwatching and wildlife viewing, with over 174 species of birds having been spotted in the park and animals such as porpoises and seals to be seen in its coastal waters.
With miles of Puget Sound beachfront, five boat ramps, ample moorage and dock space, and three freshwater lakes, the park is also a popular area to go boating, crabbing, fishing, swimming, diving, canoeing, and white-water kayaking.
For shopping and dining, guests can head to downtown Coupeville and Anacortes, where they can also visit the Anacortes Museum and the Anacortes Wt Preston Museum. Near Anacortes, guests will also find the Anacortes Ferry Terminal, from which they can take a ferry to explore the other San Juan Islands.
