Secluded Family Cabin near Ouachita Mountains in Murfreesboro, Arkansas
Located just outside the city of Murfreesboro in the natural beauty of the Arkansas countryside, this secluded cabin offers guests the opportunity to explore the landscape of Pike County while being able to chill out in a peaceful setting. The cabin can sleep up to eight guests with three bedrooms, including a master bedroom with a queen-size bed, a second bedroom with a double bed, a third bedroom with two single beds that are ideal for children, and a queen-size sofa bed in the living room. Each bedroom features cozy carpeted flooring, large windows, and plenty of storage space for belongings including wardrobes and drawers.
The master bathroom treats guests to a spacious bathtub that is perfect for relaxing in after a day in the Ouachita Mountains and a separate shower as well as a vanity. The second bathroom comes with a toilet, a hand basin, and a bathtub and shower combination with fresh towels and a selection of toiletries.
Home-cooked meals can be prepared in the fully-equipped kitchen before being enjoyed at the dining table for 10, making for sociable family evenings. Guests will love laying back in the cozy sofas in the living room where they can warm up in front of the wood-burning fireplace and watch their favorite shows on the satellite TV.
Outside, guests can start the day with a morning coffee on the covered porch and end it in style by gathering around the fire pit for some incredible stargazing.
The property comes with a covered porch with comfortable seating and a propane grill for barbecue meals, as well as a gazebo where guests can admire the views. Guests can make use of the hammocks provided, in the evening they can gather around the fire pit to toast s’mores and share stories under the stars. Inside, guests can keep up with their favorite shows, thanks to the satellite TV, and there are a washing machine and a clothes dryer, should guests wish to do laundry during their stay.
Outside in the back yard, there is a free-standing fire pit, as well as a place to put up a couple of hammocks. The hosts have repurposed another structure on-site, which was built in the 40s by a trapper and mink farmer who previously lived here, into an outdoor pavilion for relaxing and gathering outdoors. In its restoration, the hosts left as much of his original work as possible in order to help preserve his story. The hosts are happy to tell any guests who inquire the full tale, as it's quite a good one.
