Situated on the banks of the Little River in Townsend, Tennessee, this is the perfect place for a getaway to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. This quaint town is a gateway town for the park with ample museums and attractions dedicated to the history of the Great Smokies. Townsend has a reputation for being the most peaceful access point for the park and has the least amount of traffic. Guests will love the low-key downtown area with its casual restaurants and outdoor-orientated stores. The park is a six-minute drive away for glampers to spend long adventurous days exploring on foot, by bike, or on horseback. The property is extremely easy to reach, with McGhee Tyson Airport a 30-minute drive away, Knoxville Airport a 25-minute drive away, and Gatlinburg-Pigeon Forge Airport a 45-minute drive away.

The possibilities for outdoor adventures in Townsend are endless and guests are sure to make the Great Smoky Mountains National Park their first stop. The park has a large variety of trails for hiking and biking, as well as great picnic areas. Hikers can follow the trails to the top of Clingmans Dome and horseback riders can trek through the lush valleys of Cades Cove. The Cove also has an 11-mile loop reserved for cyclists on Wednesdays and Saturdays between sunrise and 10 am.

Thrill-seeking glampers can rent rafts to experience the park's fast flowing rivers while fishing enthusiasts can cast a line from their doorstep into the Little River, or try one of the many rivers in the park. Outside of the park there are some great activities too, and glampers will not want to miss the nearby Tuckaleechee Caverns, a spectacular cave system which is over a mile long, that reaches depths of up to 150 feet. The Foothills Parkway traverses Chilhowee Mountain and is a great way to spend a day admiring breathtaking views of the Smokies, the Tennessee Valley, and Cumberland Plateau.
