Cherokee

A small town in central, Texas, Cherokee was established in the 1850s and was named for Cherokee Creek nearby. The population has always stayed fairly low, making it a great remote glamping destination for those looking to get off the grid for a little while. It’s located south of the Fort Worth Dallas area, and northwest of Austin, close enough for easy access away from the city. Those city dwellers looking for a weekend getaway will love this town. Head to Colorado Bend State Park to find a river, cave, and 60 foot waterfall. Go hiking, mountain biking, or swimming in the river. Buchanan Lake to the south is another great place to go swimming, boating, fishing, and find some respite from the hot summer sun. Be sure to check out Cherokee, Texas on your next glamping trip.
