You will need a car to get around. Most things are generally not within a reasonable walking distance. You can do your shopping in Cedar Park (~15 miles) or Round Rock before arriving. There are also grocery stores in Lago Vista. Note: Drive carefully, especially if arriving at dark, as Lago Vista has a good deer population.
