Stockdale

Forty miles southeast of downtown San Antonio lies Stockdale, Texas. The town was established in 1863 and named after a lieutenant governor. Since it’s so close to a major city with an international airport, this town is easy to reach for both city dwellers and those flying in from out of state. The climate here is humid subtropical, meaning summers can be extremely hot and humid. Always make sure you drink plenty of water, and be sure to find a good body of water to cool off in. Calaveras Lake lies just to the west and is a sprawling lakefront with picnic tables, fishing, birdwatching, and nature trails to explore. Braunig Lake Park is another great place to spend the day enjoying the sunshine while cooling off in the water. Head to Stockdale, Texas for your next glamping trip.
