About this place
"A Fairy Tale Adventure"- Fort Worth Magazine
The Fort Worth Star-Telegram recently described this amazing luxury tent as "The best of both worlds", for both nature and comfort. This four-person unique camping experience is located in a forest deep inside a working cattle ranch on the banks of the Brazos River. It is the perfect romantic getaway near Fort Worth in Texas, a couple’s paradise, ideal for two people, with a luxurious queen-size bed in the master bedroom; however, the sofa in the living room folds out to create an additional queen-size bed if needed.
The tent has central heating and air conditioning, so it provides a year-round comfortable glamping experience. It has a luxurious bathroom with an oversized shower, a fully equipped kitchenette with, a microwave, a refrigerator, and a coffee pot. An outdoor grill on the deck can be used by guests for cooking under the stars (skillets provided). Firepit is great for roasting S'mores.
Please note: Firepit may not be used during a burn ban.
Guests will also enjoy soaking beneath the stars in one of the only wood-fired hot tubs in America. They can listen to the waterfall directly across the creek and read a book or snooze on the big wrap-around deck. The tent is hidden in a dense forest deep in the heart of the ranch. The river is an easy one-mile hike through the woods and grasslands, or a five-minute drive. There, the hosts have provided kayaks, along with chairs for those who want to relax.
Other activities: Visit the hen house and collect your own farm fresh eggs! Visit our barnyard and meet Dennis the donkey, his girlfriend Sugar, and all their animal friends! Visit the Painted Rock Station where the kids paint river rocks and hide them, go on a petrified wood hunt then visit the Petrified Wood Lab, complete with magnifying glasses, and learn what it was like here millions of years ago!
Guests will find this rental to have everything they will need throughout their stay, to ensure they enjoy a comfortable getaway. Also, the ranch has the only Fairy Forest in the area; build a house out of twigs; this keeps the fairies coming back! The old barn has a lovely 3,000-square-foot second floor that the hosts have turned into an indoor/outdoor space. Guests can enjoy a cocktail there before dinner; the windows have no panes, so breezes dance through the barn.
Note: The hosts take preventative measures to maintain a clean and safe environment (we provide a spray bottle of Lysol, hand sanitizer, and wipes for guests’ use.)
(The hosts donate a % of all revenue to the local food bank for the less fortunate; the 2022 donation was enough to provide 12,000 meals Thank you!)

Visit and feed the animals at "The Barnyard" petting zoo. Pick your own farm fresh eggs at the Hen House!
The ranch also has the only 'Fairy Forest' in the county where guests can build houses with twigs and sticks. It keeps the fairies coming back! Paint rocks at the painted rock station-paint river rocks then go hide them! Go on a petrified wood hunt then visit the petrified wood lab and discover what it looked like here millions of years ago!
Outdoor games like Jenga and there are also three ponds for fishing. Try your hand at roping- we can teach you!
Glampers can read a book on the private deck while overlooking Commanche Creek as they listen to the soothing sound of the waterfall or sit in one of the only wood-fired hot tubs in America while soaking away their cares and kicking back on the deck for happy hour! Roast s’mores in the fire pit!
Glampers are sure to see deer, wild turkeys, birds of all kinds, and other wild things in the area. After grilling a favorite dish, guests shouldn't miss the western sky as it comes alive with a million twinkling stars while the coyotes and owls serenade guests.
