Callahan is a small but utterly charming town in Nassau County, Florida. It is home to the Northeast Florida Fair and is conveniently located close to Jacksonville so that you can relax and enjoy the best of the tranquil Florida nature, whilst having easy access to everything you might need for a vacation. It is also conveniently close to the Thomas Creek Wildlife Management Area, which is excellent for hiking and exploring nature on one of the numerous trails. You can also go wildlife viewing, hunting (in season), horseback riding, and cycling. Local wildlife includes deer, turkey, wild hog, northern bobwhite and numerous species of songbirds. Snapping turtle, Florida cooter, and otters can be spotted along the creek.
