Luxury Tiny Home with Private Hot Tub — 3 Miles to Historic St. AugustineTHE SHORT VERSION Three hundred and sixty square feet, and every one of them yours. A queen bed under a peaked ceiling, a private spa nobody else shares, a fire pit out in the pines, and the oldest city in America three miles down the road. INSIDE — 200 SQUARE FEET, ONE BEAUTIFUL ROOM A queen bed made up in fresh linens. A love seat that pulls out to a single. A kitchenette with a butcher-block counter, refrigerator and freezer, microwave, coffee maker, real dishes and wine glasses — the coffee is on us. Counter seating with stools. Smart TV and sound system. Fast Wi-Fi and a proper place to work, if you must. Air conditioning, heat and a ceiling fan. A full bathroom with a step-in shower waits behind a sliding barn door. OUTSIDE — 160 SQUARE FEET UNDER COVER, AND THE YARD BEYOND Your own hot tub, held at 100 degrees, private to this home and shared with no one. A covered lanai with outdoor dining, lounge seating and a daybed built for the long middle of an afternoon — all of it usable straight through a Florida shower. An open deck for the sun. A fire pit in the yard for evenings outside. Bring your own firewood; Publix is about 5 minutes away. Beach chairs and towels by the door, yours to borrow. HOW IT FEELS Coffee on the lanai while the light comes through the pines. The afternoon in the spa. Dinner downtown, and the fire lit when you get back. Small on purpose — the kind of small where everything you need is within arm's reach and nothing else is asking for your attention. THE LAYOUT A studio, and a romantic one. The queen and the pull-out love seat share the same open room, which is exactly what makes it feel like a retreat for two rather than a house. Three can sleep here when the three are close. For a couple it is generous. WHAT IT IS FOR Anniversaries. Elopement weekends. The first trip away after a long year. A week of quiet work somewhere beautiful. Two people who want the door shut and the spa on. WHERE IT IS Three miles from historic downtown St. Augustine, about ten minutes from the beach. From mid-November through January the Nights of Lights run downtown, and this is a very good place to come home to afterward. ABOUT YOUR HOST I am Greg. I spent my Navy career on submarines, which is reasonable training for making a small space work hard and feel good doing it. Eight-plus years hosting on this property. I answer my own messages, usually fast, and I would far rather you text me than be stuck.Need a little extra time? You can check in early at 2 PM or check out late at noon for $45, depending on the bookings around yours. It's one or the other, since our cleaning schedule can't stretch on both ends. Just message us to ask.SMOKE-FREE INSIDE. Casa Fuego is smoke-free inside, cigarettes, cannabis and vaping included. Smoking is welcome outdoors, and ashtrays are provided. If signs of smoking are found inside, a $300 smoke-remediation cleaning fee applies, and any damage is billed separately.Events aren't allowed without approval, but we'd love to hear what you're planning, so message us to ask.Hi, I’m Greg. I spent my Navy career on submarines, where 200 square feet is a generous allowance and every inch has to earn its place — useful training, it turns out, for building and running tiny homes.I’ve been hosting vacation rentals for over eight years, and I take pride in stays that are genuinely well made rather than merely photogenic. I answer my own messages; there’s no management company between us. Whether you’re here for the beach, the woods, or the charm of historic St. Augustine, I’d rather you text me at 9pm with a question than spend your evening working it out yourself.Looking forward to hosting you at Casa Fuego.• A private hot tub, not a shared amenity — warm and ready when you arrive • 160 sq ft of covered outdoor living, so weather does not cancel the evening • A fire pit in the yard (bring your own firewood; Publix is about 5 minutes away) • Detached, with your own entry and no shared walls • Self check-in by keypad at any hour — arrive at 2am if that is when you arrive • Three miles from the oldest city in America, and quiet at night • A host who answers his own phoneI wanted to build the thing I could never find when I traveled: somewhere small and genuinely well made, private, with a hot tub you do not share and a fire you can actually sit around, close enough to a real town to walk it after dinner.Casa Fuego is that. The fire is in the name for a reason — the fire pit and the spa are the point, and everything else is built to keep you out there longer.Casa Fuego sits on a quiet lot on the west side of St. Augustine — close enough to be downtown in under ten minutes, far enough that what you hear at night is frogs and not Friday.BY CAR• Historic downtown, St. George Street and the Castillo de San Marcos — about 3 miles• The beach — about 10 minutes• Anastasia State Park and the St. Augustine Lighthouse — about 20 minutes• Jacksonville International (JAX) — about 50 minutes• Grocery, gas and coffee — a few minutesWHAT TO EXPECTThis is a residential area, not a resort strip and not a nightlife block. If you want bars outside your door, this is not it. If you want to be a short drive from all of it and have somewhere quiet to come back to with the spa already warm, it is exactly it.SEASONAL NOTEFrom mid-November through January, downtown runs the Nights of Lights — millions of white lights through the historic district, and one of the better reasons to visit St. Augustine in winter. It gets busy downtown. It does not get busy here.St. Augustine is the oldest continuously occupied European settlement in the country, and most of what you would want to do is within a ten-minute drive.HISTORIC DISTRICT — Castillo de San Marcos, the 17th-century coquina fort on the bay. St. George Street. The Lightner Museum. Flagler College. The Cathedral Basilica and the Colonial Quarter.ON THE WATER — Vilano Beach, St. Augustine Beach, Anastasia State Park, and the St. Augustine Lighthouse, which you can climb.EATING AND DRINKING — The Ice Plant, Columbia, Catch 27, and a long list of smaller places on and off St. George Street. San Sebastian Winery does tastings and tours.QUIETER — Fort Matanzas, the Fountain of Youth park, the Alligator Farm, and Washington Oaks Gardens to the south.
