Tiny Home Village: 4 Spas, Plunge Pool, Sleeps 15THE SHORT VERSIONFour private tiny homes. Four hot tubs. One plunge pool. Fifteen people. Nobody else on the property.Pueblito Del Mar is a tiny home village three miles from Historic Downtown St. Augustine. When you book it, you book all of it — four separate homes on one quiet property of pine and palmetto, plus everything between them.THE FOUR HOMESCasa Caliente — two loft bedrooms, each with a queen, and a couch that sleeps one more. A well-stocked full kitchen. A big screened porch with its own hot tub, a sectional that seats the whole group, and outdoor dining. The plunge pool and the main fire pit are just outside the door. Sleeps 5.Casa Gaucho — warm pallet-wood walls and vaulted ceilings, with a roll-up garage door in the bedroom that opens straight onto the covered deck, its private spa and its own fire pit. A real kitchen: range, oven, full-size refrigerator and a large island. A full futon in the living room sleeps two more. Sleeps 4.Casa Fuego — queen bed and a love seat that pulls out to a single, in one open room. Kitchenette, full bath with a step-in shower. Covered lanai with a hot tub a step off the deck, and its own fire pit in the yard. Sleeps 3.Casita Isabella — queen bed and a pull-out loveseat in one bright open room. Kitchenette with counter seating, full bath with a step-in shower. Private hot tub on a covered deck strung with lights. Sleeps 3.HOW A GROUP ACTUALLY USES ITCouples get their own home. Everyone has their own front door and their own bathroom, and nobody draws the short straw and sleeps in a living room while another couple takes the primary suite. Then there is the middle — the part that makes it a village. The plunge pool, the big fire pit beside it, the screened outdoor living room at Caliente that holds everyone at once, and dining under cover for the whole group. Three of the four homes have a fire pit of their own, so an evening can split between them or pull everyone to the one by the water. Crushed-shell paths wind between the homes under the pines, so the walk from your own front door to anyone else’s takes under a minute. Far enough apart to disappear when you want to. Close enough that no one feels sent to the far end of the property.BY THE NUMBERS15 guests5 queen beds and 4 pull-out beds4 private bathrooms2 full kitchens and 2 kitchenettes4 hot tubs3 fire pits1 plunge pool2-night minimumPrimary renter must be 25 or olderWHERE IT ISWest Augustine, three miles from the Castillo and St. George Street, about fifteen minutes to St. Augustine Beach and Vilano. I'm a Navy submarine veteran with a deep love for the outdoors and a passion for building unique, comfortable places for people to relax and recharge. I've been hosting in St. Augustine for over eight years. Pueblito Del Mar is the project I'm proudest of — four tiny homes I built and finished one at a time, now offered together as a single village for groups who want to be together without living on top of each other. If you're bringing a big group to town, I'd love to host you here.Four separate private tiny homes, not bedrooms in one houseA hot tub at every homeShared plunge pool and a big fire pit beside it3 of the 4 homes have their own fire pitScreened outdoor living room that holds the whole group4 private bathrooms2 full kitchens and 2 kitchenettesSleeps 15 across 5 queens and 4 pull-outsWhole property, no other guests on siteEvents by approval onlySelf check-in by keypadFree parking for the groupDog-friendly, up to 4 dogs (one per home)3 miles to Historic Downtown St. Augustine15 minutes to the beaches25 and overMost places in St. Augustine that sleep 15 are one big house. That means someone ends up on a sofa bed in the living room, four people share a bathroom, and there is a queue for the shower every morning. This is four separate tiny homes. Everyone gets a door that locks, a bathroom of their own and a hot tub outside it. The group still has a plunge pool, three fire pits and a covered outdoor room to gather in, so you are together when you want to be and genuinely apart when you do not.We have not found another property in St. Augustine set up this way.West Augustine is the quiet side of town: residential, wooded, and three miles from the middle of the Old City. You get open sky and pine instead of a shared wall with a neighbor, and you are still ten minutes from St. George Street, the Castillo and the waterfront.St. Augustine Beach and Vilano Beach are about fifteen minutes the other direction. Publix, gas and restaurants are a five-minute drive.St. Augustine is built for groups that want to split up during the day and regroup at night. On the water: Anastasia State Park (4 miles) has beach access, kayak and paddleboard rentals, and a tidal marsh trail. St. Augustine Beach Pier is a short drive. Inshore and offshore fishing charters run out of the Camachee Cove and Vilano marinas — most take six passengers, so a 15-person group books two boats. In the old city: the Castillo de San Marcos, St. George Street, the Lightner Museum, Flagler College, and the St. Augustine Distillery are all walkable from one another once you park downtown. Trolley tours pick up along the way and are the easiest option for a group that doesn't want to caravan. At night: the Amphitheatre books national acts through the spring and fall. The Ice Plant, Prohibition Kitchen, Tradewinds and the Colonial Oak Music Park are within a few blocks of each other. From November through January the whole downtown runs Nights of Lights, which is worth building a trip around.Golf: the World Golf Village complex and the King & Bear and Slammer & Squire courses are about 20 minutes north; TPC Sawgrass is 30.Day trips: Jacksonville is 45 minutes north, Daytona an hour south, Orlando's parks about two hours southwest.
