Glamping NC: Eco-friendly tipi in the Blue Ridge Mountains

This 22-foot, hand-painted glamping tipi in North Carolina can accommodate two to four guests. It comes with a queen-size bed, featuring high-quality linens, and roll-away beds are available to rent for additional guests for an extra fee.

Inside the solar-powered tipi, there is also a bistro table and chairs and bedside tables with lamps. For bathroom needs, guests can use the shared bath houses that are scattered about the grounds, one of which is located close to every glamping rental. The bathrooms include private toilets and hot showers.

Outside, there is a deck around the tipi that has outdoor furniture for enjoying the views. Guests of the tipi also have access to a picnic table, a fire pit, and a barbecue. A limited amount of firewood will be provided.

Guests will have access to the on-site bath houses with showers. At the property, there is also fresh natural spring water provided, along with communal barbecues, picnic tables, and log benches. The accommodation is solar-powered and has an outdoor fire pit.

Check-in is at 3 p.m. and check-out is at 11 a.m. If glampers are in need of a different arrival or departure time, the hosts will do their best to accommodate them when possible.

There is a two-night minimum stay, with the exception of holidays and event weekends, which require a three-night minimum stay. All rates are for a double occupancy, and there is an extra fee of $10 per additional guest beyond the first two guests. Children under the age of six stay for free.

All accommodations are non-smoking, and a vehicle with four-wheel drive is recommended during the winter months.

Guests cannot bring their own firewood on to the glamping site, due to risk of spreading insects and/or diseases.

Pets are allowed, as long as they are kept on a leash. The hosts must be notified in advance if a pet is accompanying glampers on their stay. Guests must assume full responsibility for their pet, including cleaning up after the animal.

Additional fees may be charged for damage or if additional cleaning was required upon check-out.

This luxury camping site in the Blue Ridge Mountains, just north of Boone, North Carolina, offers a variety of outdoor activities to keep glampers busy all vacation long. On-site, there are miles of hiking trails, a large open field for playing games, and a trout pond for catching dinner or simply relaxing along its shores.

To best discover the area, glampers have the option of spending each day floating down a river, hiking to stunning vistas and waterfalls, cycling along the paths, or mounting a horse for a look at the scenery from a little higher up. Enjoy water sports, such as fishing, canoeing, kayaking, and tubing, at only a few miles from the New River—try out whitewater rafting or fly fishing, too. Other activities include zip-lining through or climbing to the top of Elk Knob State Park and admiring the scenic views from Blue Ridge Parkway or Grandfather Mountain Park.

When temperatures drop in the winter months, guests will enjoy the numerous ski resorts in the area, where they can go skiing, snowboarding, ice skating, and snow tubing. Warm up afterwards with a cup of coffee and browse the local boutiques, galleries, and antique shops.
