Nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains near West Jefferson, North Carolina, lies this, roomy creative use of space, barn rental which can accommodate up to five guests. Tucked into a building that used to be a barn, with the entire building being re-purposed into a combination of lodging rentals and guest check-in/farm store space.

This is a unique space in that the kitchen and bathroom are downstairs, and guests have two bedrooms upstairs along with a living area. The bedrooms are on opposite ends of the space and each bedroom has a plush memory foam full-size bed. The living area is in the center with cozy furniture and views of the surrounding trees. There is also a twin daybed in the living room.

Downstairs, guests have a full kitchen with a small stove/oven, a refrigerator, a coffee pot, a microwave, pots and pans, plates, and silverware that they can use to prepare simple meals. Guests should note that the loft has a separate entrance but is attached to the same building as the guest check-in/farm store. Glampers do not share any communal walls with any other guest unit.

Dogs are allowed in this unit if prearranged with host. There is an additional fee for dogs.

Weekends during July, August and October require a two night minimum stay. Guests should check with the hosts if they are looking to stay just one night on a weekend as they can sometimes accommodate that request. Memorial Day, 4th of July and Labor Day have a three night minimum stay.

These cabins are all surrounded by a historic Healing Spring, which is purported to have curative powers. All glampers can enjoy access to a large main lodge that has Wi-Fi access throughout. In case visitors are in the mood for grilling, the host provides tripod barbecues to use over the wood-burning fire pits.

Guest Services

The hosts live on-site and are happy to help any queries or recommendations. The host provides a breakfast basket for two, which includes English muffins, butter, homemade jam/jelly, and fresh fruit for $10. For $25, the host is prepared to offer a selection of cheeses, fruit, and crackers upon arrival. The host will also provide everything needed to make s’mores, such as toasting sticks, marshmallows, graham crackers, and chocolate, that guests can take to one of the fire pits for a small extra fee.

This glamping site is tucked away at the foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Ashe County, North Carolina. The accommodations are in a secluded glen, which surrounds a natural spring that is said to have healing properties. The site is just 16 miles from renowned hiking areas of Grayson Highlands and Mt. Rodgers. The city of Charlotte is just over two hours away, and Raleigh is just over three hours away. There are many other beautiful smaller towns in the vicinity, such as West Jefferson, at just 10 minutes from the site.

The cabins are located in Ashe County, at the historic Healing Spring with easy access to all that this region has to offer, such as West Jefferson’s thriving art culture, coffee shops, boutiques, and emporiums. A visit to Ashe County’s Farmer’s Market is highly recommended, where visitors can sample homemade cheese. The Church of Fresco has fabulous works by artist such as Benjamin Long.

There is also a local movie theater and charming nearby towns like West Jefferson, Lansing and Sparta are definitely worth a visit. Guests can also embark on fabulous hikes at Grayson Highlands State Park, where there are herds of wild ponies, and see stunning views from the top of Mount Jefferson. Some other great hiking locations include Doughton Park, Mount Rogers National Recreation Area, and the Appalachian Trail. Visitors can also golf, fly-fish, and even take an art class at a prestigious local art school.

Please note that there are a 7% North Carolina sales tax and a 3% Ashe County occupancy tax added to the room rate.

"Quiet hours" are between 10 p.m. to 8 a.m to ensure all guests have a peaceful stay.
