This tree house rental near West Jefferson, North Carolina, is great for couples looking for a unique place to have a romantic getaway. This rustic retreat was built entirely with reclaimed lumber from an Ashe County homestead that was over 100 years old! It has a small deck with seating and overlooks a babbling brook and sleeps two, in a plush queen-size bed, a sitting area with a cozy love seat, and a tiny room that has a roll-away twin bed with a memory foam mattress. The tree house comes complete with sheets, pillows, blankets, quilts, and towels.
Guests can open the windows and enjoy the sounds in the woods with the cool mountain air. They will love sleeping in this rustic cabin with a tin roof. This is a primitive camping cabin, it does not have electricity or water. The hosts provide a battery operated lantern for guest convenience. There is a full bathroom located in the lodge building, which guests can use at any time. It has windows, screens, and a screen door. The tree house also comes with a mini-fridge, a microwave, and a coffeemaker (complete with coffee and sweeteners). There is both a ceiling fan and air conditioning for when temperatures start to rise, along with heating for the cooler months.
Perched upon tree poles in the woods, guests will have to walk up a path and then up a flight of stairs to reach the tree house. There is a Chiminea fire place and Adirondack chairs set at the base of the stairs for guests to enjoy a fire outdoors. The hosts kindly provide dry firewood. Parking is a short distance away.

The cabins are located in Ashe County, at the historic Healing Spring with easy access to all that this region has to offer, such as West Jefferson’s thriving art culture, coffee shops, boutiques, and emporiums. A visit to Ashe County’s Farmer’s Market is highly recommended, where visitors can sample homemade cheese. The Church of Fresco has fabulous works by artist such as Benjamin Long.
There is also a local movie theater and charming nearby towns like West Jefferson, Lansing and Sparta are definitely worth a visit. Guests can also embark on fabulous hikes at Grayson Highlands State Park, where there are herds of wild ponies, and see stunning views from the top of Mount Jefferson. Some other great hiking locations include Doughton Park, Mount Rogers National Recreation Area, and the Appalachian Trail. Visitors can also golf, fly-fish, and even take an art class at a prestigious local art school.
