Location:

Relax on forty acres of private waterfront property for a one-of-a-kind experience. The 40-acre property is at the end of a peninsula that juts out into the salt water and formed by two large waterways! There are great views and generally pleasant breezes. To the right of the property there are three miles of mostly water and marsh bisected by the intercoastal waterway. If you look east, the view is of 10 miles of open water and marsh with countless birds flying at different times of the day.. To the north of the house is the deep water Russell Creek (where we have our dock) and beyond the creek is more marsh and then forest. Located in view of the Intracoastal Waterway, Endless Views enjoys fresh breezes, gorgeous sunrises, and lots of quiet – often the only sounds you hear by numerous birds. Being on the Peninsula means two miles from hwy 174 with the second mile being on a private road with a gate that leads to the property. At low tide, our 32-foot floating dock has 8 feet of water under it. The dock is a great platform to kayak, swim, sunbath, fish or crab from. We also have a private boat ramp sufficient to launch even larger boats. From the house at high tide, the view from the water facing deck gives you the feeling that you are on a boat, you will see dolphins travel up the creek daily if you hang out on the dock or go out in one of the kayaks.

House

The house was designed to facilitate spending time with family and friends while affording privacy and space by dividing the living space into three houses or pods. The sleeping area are separated in two separate pods and are accessed by a common porch shared by all areas of the house. The main pod contains the living room, kitchen and dining room, powder room and two water facing porches. The open kitchen is fully equipped with all the appliances – including Breville Air Fryer, microwave, coffee maker, lots of pots and pans and utensils you need to cook your favorite meals. The dining area seats 8-10 comfortably and there is a kitchen bar for snacks. The screened porch has a gas grill and the main porch has a separate aluminum table with four chairs and six lounge chairs. The master suite pod includes a king sized bed, private screened porch, master bathroom with onyx tile and a laundry area. History

This property has a fascinating history, it was deeded as a Lord Proprietors Grant in 1710 to a plantation owner named Joseph Russell who received the land from the King of England. Since then there’s only been a handful of owners with the property passing between generations of the current owner’s family since 1961. Endless Views on Little Edisto is one of our two houses on the 40-acre property so you will feel very secluded in a natural setting. To get to the house, you will drive a mile down Russell Creek Road and then another mile on a private road to the end of the peninsula that comprises Edisto Endless Views. From the house, you can walk (a short way along the marsh front) to the property’s private deepwater dock and private boat ramp. Take one of three kayaks from the dock paddle down the creek or if you have a motorboat you can drive out to the ocean or to great fishing in the creeks. Nature lovers will love this beautiful natural location and can view birds by kayak or on land. It is incredible how much wildlife can be found on Edisto and because most of it cannot be developed because of conservation easements and other restrictions. My family has owned the property since 1962 when it was purchase by my uncle and later sold to my family.

Why Endless Views

This property offers more than a typical beach vacation (if not swimming off the dock we often go to the state park and swim and have a picnic and return to Endless Views). Explore land and sea using the property's bikes or the waterways with one of our three kayaks (life jackets provided and new flip down aluminum swim ladder). Take a leisurely walk down our private road, forest paths or acres of grass and pine forests. Immerse yourself in the unique nature and beauty of the Low Country's rich tidal creeks and marshes. Often, our guests plan to visit the many attractions on and around Edisto Island, but are so relaxed that they rarely find time to leave the property! After a walk or bike ride down the private dirt road (we provide bikes), or a serene kayak along the creeks, you'll be content to hang out on the porch, in the shade or sun, with a cool glass of iced tea and a good book. You may want to take a hot tub on the deck or swim off the dock during ebb tides. You will find some good restaurants on the island - or you may want to catch fresh seafood and buy vegetables to cook on the stove or gas grill (or let Flowers Seafood prepare seafood for you!). We especially like to eat the fresh crab that we catch off the dock (traps provided) and fish we have caught (kids can generally catch whiting with number 2 hooks, trout and bass require more technique and luck).

There is something for everyone on Edisto Island. Including an excellent golf course on the Island, which will satisfy the most discriminating golfer (and a second golf course only 20 minutes from Edisto Island). Anglers can catch a variety of fish right off our dock, or take their boat or our two fishing kayaks (that come with the house) to enjoy some of the finest fishing on Edisto Island. We have found success with live bait such as shrimp and minnows -- you can use a minnow trap or shrimp net to catch live bait in season. Bird watching and the sounds of nature are captivating on SanRuss Point: birds flying over wetlands that stretch as far as the eye can see; dolphins swimming in the creeks; bald eagles, swallows, brown pelicans, egrets, Roseate Spoonbills, wood storks, owls and woodpeckers, as well as a countless number of other waterbirds. You can see lots of nature walking around the property and if you walk one mile up the private road - you will see flocks of birds near the gate in the saltwater lakes and lots of deer roaming around. Enjoy catching crabs off our private dock (crabs can be caught all year round although some seasons with warmer water are better than others) - you are welcome to use our crab traps or simply a string and weight. If you need something, just call and generally we can attend to your needs as he works on the 40-acre property.

By car, you can explore Edisto Island's historic churches and plantations, state parks, and unique activities such as the Edisto Island Serpentarium (open April-October), Bingo Nights at the Lions Club (summer only and come early), strawberry, tomato and corn picking at Kings Market (May to early July). Blueberry picking in late June. Edisto Beach State Park and Botany Bay Plantation beach are a short drive down Hwy. 174. Enjoy a day at the beach and then come home the beautiful endless views. While at the beach, we recommend the SeaCow Eatery for a casual meal or Whaley's Store for the locals' favorite lunch spot or Jungle Shack in your swim suits! Visit Edisto's 4,360-acre Botany Bay Plantation. Kings Market, a few miles up Hwy. 174, that sells wonderful produce, tomato pies, desserts and boiled peanuts (in season). Buy fresh shrimp and fish at Flowers Seafood which is only a 10 minute drive. Via motorboat, you can take a 20-30 minute trip to remote beaches such as Deveaux Bank at the mouth of the Edisto River or eat lunch at Bohicket Marina on Seabrook Island. Take advantage of local attractions including kayak tours, fishing guides, or even a shrimp boat charter. Further afield, explore the ACE Basin (wonderful plantation house with rocking chairs on the back porch) , Cypress Gardens, Middleton Place and Magnolia Plantation, and of course, the beautiful town of Charleston.
