The snow-covered mountains in this area of Nevada provide the perfect backdrop for a scenic drive with views fit for a postcard. This whole area is also a superb location for outdoor pursuits. There are numerous trails and tracks that head out into the wilderness area of the Ruby Mountains, where the most popular activity is skiing.

Glampers may access the highest summits by taking a helicopter ride, as Ruby Mountain is one of two heli-ski operations in the west, featuring 500 square miles of ski terrain, the largest in the entire country.

The fun doesn’t stop when the snow melts away. During the summer, visitors can enjoy a full day of picnicking, fishing, strolling or hiking in the pines in Lamoille Canyon, where there are also many campsites.
