Gorgeous Glamping Vacation Rental for Big Groups in Carson, New Mexico
This rural retreat in the piñon forest of Carson, New Mexico, consists of three adjacent properties on 45 acres. There are 3 houses, 5 casitas, (little houses), 5 tent sites, a Studio for yoga and other types of retreats, a Playhouse for events and larger group dining, a Temple, a wonderful greenhouse, an in-ground fire pit, a 3-seater wood fired hot tub, 3 pens/run-ins for horses, and 3 walking trails across 25 acres. It's all really quite amazing! (*The Studio, Playhouse, Temple and horse accommodations are additional).
The Main House has 3 bedrooms, one and a half bathrooms, and an additional bathroom and shower room in the nearby Studio building. The living room features two comfortable couches around a wood stove. Next to the living room is the dining area that seats 14 - 17 in addition to the outdoor eating areas.
In the fully-equipped kitchen guests will find modern appliances and everything necessary to cook some great meals. Outside on the back patio, there is an outdoor fire pit and furniture. The stunning greenhouse is brimming abundantly with herbs and vegetables most of the year.
Additional sleeping space near the Main House is available in the three casitas. The Straw Bale Casita, constructed out of straw bales, features a queen-size bed and half bath. It's really romantic. The Adobe Casita has a full-size bed and the Green Hut has a twin bed. The Adobe Casita and the Green Hut have no plumbing but are close to the Main House. Depending on the need, a combination of these casitas may be rented in addition to the Main House. All the spaces are nicely appointed and there are additional bathrooms in the Studio building nearby.
Just south of the Main House is the Ranch. The Ranch House has 3 bedrooms, (2 kings and 1 queen), 2 full bathrooms, and an eat-in kitchen that can fit 6. The Ranch Casita has two twin beds and a full bathroom. Behind the Ranch House is the tiny Temple, (not yet pictured) and behind that is the Playhouse, (photos coming soon), which has a catering kitchen and plenty of space for dining and events for up to 50 people.
To the east of the Main House property is the Q House and Stick Casita. The Q house is an open floor plan, (no BRs), with a king bed, twin bed, and two sofa beds. It has a full bathroom as well as a kitchen and a dining area for 8. Not far is the Stick Casita which has a bedroom with a full bed and a twin bed, a twin daybed in the living area, and a kitchenette and full bathroom.
The buildings are all well-appointed with modern amenities and plenty of books and board games for some old-fashioned indoor entertainment. There is fast fiber-optic Wi-Fi everywhere. The three-mile dirt road is passable year-round, and gives you the feeling that you are "out there". (4WD or AWD recommended in winter snow and early spring mud).
A caretaker lives on the premises and will give glampers a brief welcome and orientation upon arrival. This place is for those who love being in nature but prefer not to rough it.
Our wonderful Carson Cafe & Grocery is on your way about three miles away if guests have forgotten something or just want some local flavor. Good food, coffee, beer and wine can be had on-site. We also have a great kennel 2 miles away on your drive in. We don't allow pets at all on the property.
We are super centrally located to visit all the major northern NM sights, including the nearby Orilla Verde Recreational Area in the Rio Grande del Norte National Monument. It's absolutely gorgeous! Ojo Caliente Spa & Springs is within a half hour, there are 4 great ski resorts that take more or less an hour to reach, Taos is 40 mins, Abiquiu and Ghost Ranch are under an hour, and Santa Fe, Bandelier and Puye are about 90 mins away.
