Here between the Peloncillo and the Chiricahua Mountains, guests have a host of outdoor activities to choose from. The Chiricahua Mountains to the west have miles of hiking trails for guests to choose from. A hike is a great way to start the day before the heat has reached its highest temperature. Popular trails in the area include the Cathedral Vista Trail, the Barfoot Lookout Trail, and the Morse Canyon Trail, of course, there are many others to choose from as well. With the diversified surrounding areas guests can enjoy some adrenaline fueled activities such as mountain biking, rock climbing, hunting, mountaineering, and spelunking. Or, for those relaxing days at the cabin more relaxing activities can be taken advantage of, including animal watching, rock collecting, bird watching, and sky gazing.

Rodeo, New Mexico is also known for its many unique species of birds and attracts birdwatchers from all over. The area is home to tropical hummingbirds and Elf Owls, Elegant Trogons, Sulphur-bellied Flycatchers, and Coatimundi in South Fork; to the Mexican Chickadee, Yellow-eyed Juncos, and Red-faced Warblers in Rustlers Park, there is nowhere else in the United States like this. Another special quirk specific to the area is how dark it gets at night, making for amazing star gazing and astronomy buffs will love getting out the telescope to see the planets.
