La Pine is a small city located in Deschutes County, Oregon, not too far from the larger city of Bend. Several mountains are visible from the city - Paulina Peak, Mt Bachelor, and Diamond Peak, the latter two of which are part of the Cascade Mountain Range. Other significant natural sites in the area include Willamette National Forest, Umpqua National Forest, and La Pine State Park. Due to La Pine’s location in the Little Deschutes River Valley, fishing, swimming, and canoeing are popular pastimes. There is also nearby Quail Run Golf Course, which is ideal for an afternoon on the links, and Lava Cast Forest Trail for keen hikers. Large bodies of water in the vicinity include Wickiup Reservoir, Davis Lake, and East Lake.
