Sherman

Named after General Sidney Sherman, a general in the Texas Revolution, Sherman, Texas was established in 1848. Since then it has grown and developed into a small city. Only 70 miles north of Dallas, visitors can easily come for a quick weekend getaway, and glampers flying in from out of town won’t have to drive far to reach their final destination. It’s just south of Lake Texoma, which shares a border with Oklahoma. Since this area is humid subtropical and temperatures can be extremely high, the best thing to do is find a body of water to cool off in. Another nearby place is Lake Ray Roberts. Ray Roberts Lake State Park has heavily wooded hiking and equestrian trails around the lake, along with a marina for boating. Head to Sherman, Texas for your next glamping trip.
