Cozy Secluded Tipi at Eco-Friendly Property near Cardiff, Wales

Tipi in Carmarthen, Wales

4 guests

This tipi can accommodate four guests and features a double bed and two single beds. All of the beds are set on frames that are close to the ground and come with comfortable mattresses, pillows, and throws, as well as large cushions and a cowhide. In addition, there is a trunk with more blankets. There is also a low table and a wooden chest with cooking equipment in the tipi. The floor of the tipi is made of dry gravel and covered with matting and sheepskins.

In the middle of the tipi, there is an ornate, cast-iron wood-burning stove with a chimney flue that leads the smoke up and out of the smoke flaps in the top of the tipi. Guests will be supplied with lighters and a basket of chopped, dry firewood. The wood-burning stove has a fireguard for safety, and the hosts will give guests plenty of assistance upon arrival on how to use the stove and the smoke flaps.

The hosts do not recommend the tipi in fall or early spring if traveling with small children, due to cold temperatures.

At this glamping property, there is a log cabin that serves as a shared kitchen space and features a full-size calor gas stove and oven; a cast-iron Victorian stove and oven; a low-energy power supply for charging cell phones and other small electronic devices; a sink; a dining room table; a variety of seating; and a library with books for all guests to read.

All necessary cookware is provided, however, there are no refrigerators, since the property is off-the-grid. The hosts do give all guests a cooler and replenish the ice packs daily. There is a fire pit where guests can also cook meals over an open flame, and a basket of firewood a day is provided. Additional firewood can be purchased for £3 per basket. Barbecues are also available.

The bathroom facilities include two showers with hot water, a composting toilet, and a normal toilet. In addition, the hosts provide all guests with eco-friendly shampoo, conditioner, soap, and laundry supplies.
