This vacation rental is located in West Bay, Honduras, where it is situated in the Lighthouse Estates community near the western-most point of the island of Roatán—the largest of Honduras's Bay Islands. Overlooking a black iron shore splashed by the brilliantly blue waters of the Caribbean Sea, the rental provides stunning oceanfront views, extending all the way to the mountains of the Honduran mainland on clear days.
The rental is within a 15-minute walk from the idyllic white sands of West Bay Beach, the coral reefs of Mary's Eel Garden, and a variety of shopping and dining options, such as Kismet Beach Bar, Iron Shore, Lala Gallery and Garden Cafe, and West Bay Mall, as well as diving outfitters such as Infinity Divers, Blue Planet Divers, and Mayan Divers. Within an eight-minute drive, guests can reach South Shore Zipline Tours and Gumbalimba Park, while attractions such as Carambola Gardens, Mayan Eden, and Jungle Top Adventures Zipline can all be reached within 40 minutes.
At Gumbalimba Park, guests will find a 20-acre botanical garden full of 200 species of plants and trees, a number of waterfalls and fountains, a sandy beach, a cafe, and opportunities to encounter monkeys and tropical birds. Another 40 acres of botanical gardens laced with jungle trails can be explored at Carambola Botanical Gardens, which is home to iguanas and parrots. Even more gardens, wildlife encounters, and a butterfly sanctuary can be enjoyed at Mayan Eden Park, which also has a zip-line course.
Situated right off the shore of West Bay Beach, Mandy's Eel Garden provides shallow waters in which guests of all skill levels can dive down to a coral reef teeming with marine life, including green eels, squid, eagle rays, parrot fish, seahorses, and octopi. The reef is just one of many prime spots for diving off the coast of Roatán, which is located near the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef System—the second largest barrier reef in the world, surpassed only by Australia's Great Barrier Reef.
The vacation rental is about 35 minutes to the west of Coxen Hole, the island's most populous town, where guests will find Juan Manuel Gálvez International Airport.
