Scenic views
This villa is located in West End, Honduras, where it is situated just footsteps away from the idyllic white sand beach of Half Moon Bay on the island of Roatán—the largest of Honduras's Bay Islands. Surrounded by lush foliage and boasting stunning views of the bay's brilliantly blue waters, the villa provides guest with a private tropical paradise that feels secluded from the more touristed parts of the island, while at the same time providing them with convenient access to a variety of local attractions.

The villa is within walking distance of a variety of shops, cafes, restaurants, bars, art galleries, and scuba diving outfitters in West End Village. Within a 15-minute drive, guests can reach attractions such as Gumbalimba Park, Carambola Gardens, Mayan Eden, South Shore Zipline Tours, Jungle Top Adventures Zipline, and Mandy's Eel Garden.

At Gumbalimba Park, guests will find a 20-acre botanical garden full of 200 species of plants and trees, a number of waterfalls and fountains, a sandy beach, a cafe, and opportunities to encounter monkeys and tropical birds. Another 40 acres of botanical gardens laced with jungle trails can be explored at Carambola Botanical Gardens, which is home to iguanas and parrots. Even more gardens, wildlife encounters, and a butterfly sanctuary can be enjoyed at Mayan Eden Park, which also has a zip-line course.

Situated right off the shore of West Bay Beach, Mandy's Eel Garden provides shallow waters in which guests of all skill levels can dive down to a coral reef teeming with marine life, including green eels, squid, eagle rays, parrot fish, seahorses, and octopi. The reef is just one of many prime spots for diving off the coast of Roatán, which is located near the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef System—the second largest barrier reef in the world, surpassed only by Australia's Great Barrier Reef.

The villa is about 20 minutes to the west of Coxen Hole, the island's most populous town, where guests will find Juan Manuel Gálvez International Airport.

Set near the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef System (the second largest barrier reef in the world), the island of Roatán is one of the Western Hemisphere's premier destinations for scuba diving. A variety of local outfitters rent out scuba diving equipment and offer scuba diving tours, such as Coconut Tree Divers, Roatán Divers, and West End Divers, all three of which are within walking distance of the villa.

Of course, there is much more to do in the idyllic waters of the Caribbean Sea besides diving. The island's white sandy beaches and calm expanses of brilliantly blue sea water provide ideal settings for swimming, snorkeling, kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, sailing, boating, fishing, and jet skiing. Rentals, charters, and tours are available from numerous local outfitters, such as nearby Roatan Anglers and Steve's Paddle Shack.

With its lush jungles and abundant tropical wildlife, the island also offers a variety of land-based activity options. Guests can go strolling through botanical gardens and see exotic birds, monkeys, iguanas, and butterflies at Gumbalimba Park, Carambola Botanical Gardens, and Mayan Eden Park. To explore the island's jungle canopies from above, guests can go ziplining at Mayan Eden Park, South Shore Zipline Tours, and Jungle Top Adventures Zipline.
