This location is a fabulous choice for glampers who love the outdoors. They will be able to go hiking, biking, and horseback riding, and can discover beaches, coves, forests, and an array of unique flora and fauna. Guests can take to the water for swimming and kayaking at Matapouri Beach, or paddle boarding in Tutukaka. The Poor Knights Marine Reserve offers unbeatable diving and snorkeling, as it’s home to some breathtaking underwater scenery. Keen fishermen can enjoy their favorite pastime on a chartered boat trip from the nearby marina or from coastal rocks, harbors, wharves, and docks. This part of the world is ideal for surfing and boogie boarding, with its clear and temperate waters. Surf lessons are available at Sandy Bay and many other locations close to the property.

The city of Whangarei features excellent shopping and dining, as well as a great arts scene. An Artisan Fair runs frequently during the summer. Guests may enjoy a visit to the Whangarei Art Museum, which also offers an insight into local history. For thrills and excitement, glampers can head to Adventure Forest where they'll find a rope course through the treetops, with zip-lines, swings, nets, and much more.

Abbey Caves offer a different type of adventure. These undeveloped and unguided caves can be explored carefully, using a torch, sturdy shoes, and a helmet. Inside, glampers will be rewarded by the sight of thousands of incredible glow worms.
