The only castle in New Zealand, Larnach Castle, is less than an hour's drive away and offers glampers the chance to get up close and personal with a piece of New Zealand's history. It was built in 1871 and is a Victorian castle that has been restored to its original grandeur and also offers a chance for guests to take in the grand views of the Otago region. For glampers who enjoy viewing the local wildlife, Orokonui Ecosanctuary is a place to watch lizards and 17 species of native birds. The city of Dunedin is a UNESCO Creative City of Literature, which is sure to delight avid readers and history buffs alike. The city also provides 25 different pieces of artwork throughout the city, which are being painted on blank canvases; it's about a 90-minute walk to see all the art. For those interested in exploring on two wheels, there are plenty of trails, like Signal Hill, for downhill riding.
