The rental offers plenty of charm and was named after the white-faced heron that spends time on the hosts' pond during the summer months. Inside, there is room for two glampers in the comfortable double bed that is dressed in lovely linens to ensure that guests enjoy a peaceful sleep every night of their getaway. In addition, guests will have access to an outdoor bathroom that is home to a hot shower and a compost toilet, with towels provided.

During their getaway, guests can enjoy a delicious continental breakfast to give them plenty of energy for exploring the trails in the nearby national park. They are also welcome to spend time roaming the gorgeous gardens of the property.

This property is located in Central Otago, New Zealand, and is set on six acres in the town of Lauder. Guests will be close to the spectacular Poolburn Gorge viaducts and tunnels, and also just a 30-minute drive from the nearby town of Naseby. Mount Aspiring National Park can be found approximately a two-hour drive north-west of the property and boasts magnificent views, local wildlife, hiking, biking, and tramping trails for glampers to discover.

The waterfront city of Dunedin is just over a two-hour drive south-east of the property and is home to the Otago Peninsula, the Dunedin Botanic Garden, Tunnel Beach, and other popular tourist destinations. In addition, guests will be pleased to discover the town of Alexandra just 20 minutes south-west of the property, where they can visit Butchers Dam and explore the Otago Central Rail Trail.

While staying in the area, guests should be sure to enjoy the short walk down the road to the Stationside Cafe, which is a wonderful place to stop for a coffee and something to eat. For a night time meal, there is the Lauder Hotel, just a short stroll into the Lauder village. Guests should also be sure to take a bike up the Poolburn Gorge for a night ride and experience this special part of the Otago Rail Trail.

Just a short drive up the road is the beautiful Blue Lake and historic town of St Bathans. The Vulcan Hotel is great for a drink or something to eat before walking around the town and checking out some of the history from the gold mining days. The Thomson Gorge Road is a remote high country road across the Dunstan Mountains between Matakanui and Bendigo and offers some great historic sites along the way. Just 35 minutes up the highway is the beautiful town of Naseby, which is great for forest mountain biking or guests can visit the indoor curling rink.
