This unique, glass-roofed cabin is located near Twizel and can accommodate two guests. There is one bedroom and one full bathroom. The first bedroom has a king-size bed, resting at ground level and boasting an expansive glass roof, with a feather duvet to keep guests cool in summer and warm in winter. In the earth-roofed bathroom, guests will find a toilet, a sink, and a shower. Linens and towels are provided.

In the living area, guests will find a seating area and the kitchenette, also with an earth roof comes and with a stove, refrigerator, and dining table, as well as all the kitchenware guests may need, including an electric kettle. Free Wi-Fi is available at the property, as well as free parking on site.

Outside, there is a sunken courtyard with a stainless steel-cedar bathtub, using just pure, fresh water, sourced from a nearby spring.

There is air conditioning for the summer, as well as concrete mass, ventilation, extraction fans, and roof blinds, all helping to keep the temperature low. Central heating keeps guests warm during the cooler months. A gourmet continental breakfast is included, as well as free, on-site parking. The property offers free Wi-Fi for guests to use too. There are two options available for an evening dinner platter, available upon request. These include the Antipasto Platter for Two, consisting of local cheeses, local smoked salmon, cured meats, chutneys and pickled vegetables, bread and crackers, and The Ultimate Salad for Two, consisting of leafy salad greens, local halloumi cheese, local smoked salmon, pickled beetroot, orange segments, croutons, sweet lemon dressing and bread (the halloumi must be cooked).

A 4-Wheel Drive Tour for a minimum of two people is also available for guests to get out and explore some of New Zealand’s most impressive countryside. Starting at the farm base and rising to over 4,500 feet, the panoramic views over Mackenzie County mustn’t be missed.

This unique, glass-roofed cabin is located just 10 minutes from Twizel, New Zealand, and just over seven miles off the Tekapo-Queenstown road set right in the middle of the beautiful rolling hills of the Mackenzie Country landscape. Part of the Aoraki Mackenzie International Dark Sky Reserve, the area is protected from light pollution by local bylaws, meaning the stars guests see are some of the clearest in the world. Being close enough to town life when wanted, but private and secluded enough to feel like there’s nobody else, this gorgeous escape is in the perfect location.

Just 10 minutes away from Twizel, offering local salmon shops, as well as Lake Ohau, and even the Lord of the Rings Twizel Tour, there’s plenty to do. At under an hour from the property, Tekapo Springs at Lake Tekapo offers outdoor hot pools, ice skating, and snow tubing in the winter, as well as spa treatments at the day spa. Aoraki Mount Cook National Park is great for all sorts of outdoor activities, such as hiking, boat tours, and wildlife tours, as well as ski and snow tours in the winter, and air tours too.

At just under two hours away, more outdoor activities are available in Wanaka, such as a 12,000-foot sky tandem sky dive or ‘funyaking’ on the Dart River. In Omarama, guests can explore the clay cliffs and even experience a glider flight with Glide Omarama. For slightly more relaxed days, Oamaru offers plenty of culture for some sightseeing, and Queenstown and Christchurch offer anything from dining and bars to restaurants and shopping, too.
