Detailed location provided after booking

Scenic views
This property is a luxury farm stay lodge on a working high country station on the south shore of Lake Wakatipu, in New Zealand. Founded in 1860, Walter Peak Station covers 24,000 hectares and is home to 20,000 sheep and hundreds of cattle. The remote and uncomplicated way of life at the station permeates through the lodge, where guests can relax and unwind in simple comfort. Guests take a scenic boat or helicopter ride across Lake Wakatipu, from Queenstown, and they will find themselves at the property. Hidden in a private garden with spectacular 360-degree views, guests will immediately feel right at home here.

Here at the station, guests can truly do it all outdoors—fishing, hiking, mountain biking, kayaking, and much more. Anglers will love the location, with brown and rainbow trout and salmon await in Lake Wakatipu. There is also superb fly fishing on the nearby Lochy River. Another way to see the lake is on a kayak; guests can choose from a selection of shelter, safe, and scenic excursions on the lake and all the gear is provided. Other guests may prefer land, and in that case, there are many hiking and mountain biking opportunities throughout the station. Station guides can take guests all through the backcountry to some of the areas best vantage points and lookouts, and they can cater each walk to the groups level and ability. There is also an easy one-day mountain bike trip (about 25 kilometers), which follows a back country road from Walter Peak to Mount Nicholas, allowing guests to catch a peek of the western shores of Lake Wakatipu. The more adventurous can do the overnight trip, called the 'Around the Mountains' trail that runs through the Von Valley to the Mavora Lakes.
