Welcome to our cabin Our home is located in Catskill, NY and is the perfect getaway for friends and families to enjoy. The house itself was recently renovated to have all the modern amenities (including ones you might expect from resort hotel), but also has the thoughtful charm to be your home away from home.SPACEEnjoy your morning coffee by the wood-burning fireplace, gazing out the picture window into the lush foliage, or an afternoon cocktail al fresco on our patio overlooking the large yard surrounded by trees. We have everything you need for the perfect getaway, whether you love hiking, skiing, relaxing, cooking, adventuring or all of the above.The Living Room is our favorite spot to enjoy in the house. Start up the wood burning fire place and make the house feel super cozy. Lounge on the sofas and gaze out the picture windows to enjoy the view of lush foliage, switch on the Smart TV (where you can easily sign into your Netflix, Hulu, or other streaming account) for movie night or the big game, or enjoy a one of our board games with your group. The living room is adjacent to the kitchen which has an expansive island and stools for gathering around and a dining room with enough seating for your group to dine together. Sleeping Arrangements The cabin has 6 traditional bedrooms including 1 King Size Bedroom (which has a bathroom en suite), 2 bedrooms with queen sized beds, 2 bedrooms with full sized beds, and 1 bedroom with twin sized bunk bed. This brings us to a total of 10 guests with room to spread out in the home. All bedrooms feature Casper Mattresses, quality linens and are thoughtfully decorated. There are Smart TVs in 4 of the bedrooms, where you can easily sign into your Netflix, Hulu, or other streaming account. Bedrooms have closets with shelving so you can comfortably unpack for your stay. Each room has its own climate control so that guests can adjust to their individual preference. Please note: the Master Bedroom upstairs has a large picture window looking out on the foliage on the property. Although we enjoy waking up to that view, the room is rather bright in the mornings. We have (individual use) sleeping eye masks available in the room for you to use.The KitchenThe Kitchen is equipped with all new appliances and finishes as well as cooking utensils, pots and pans, general spices, and basically all the tools you need to make morning pancakes, spaghetti Bolognese dinner, and everything in between. (Groceries not provided.) For morning coffee, there is a coffee machine, please feel free to bring along your favorite roast. You will find all the dish ware, serve ware, and drink ware you need for such a large group to dine, but don’t worry, we have you covered with a dishwasher too. BathroomsThere are 3 bathrooms in the cabin, one of which has a large bathtub, perfect for filling with bubbles or salts to kick back and relax. Every shower has a rain head and body sprayer, and all of our bathrooms are stocked with toiletries, a hair dryer in each, and super plush towels.OutdoorsStep out to the backyard and you will find an expansive deck, great for you and your guests to dine al fresco at our outdoor dining area. If BBQ-ing is your thing, we have you covered with a propane grill. An extra tank is provided in case the one there runs low and needs to be swapped out. A whirlpool, sitting below a wood trellis is tucked in the back corner of the deck, a personal favorite to enjoy under the moonlight and stars. For the kiddos, we have a swing set just beyond the deck, resting on a large plushy yard, perfect for running around on. A few steps up around to the back of the house is a fire pit surrounded with Adirondack chairs for your entire group to gather around (limited firewood supply).ACCESSGuests can enjoy the privacy of the entire house, private deck, fire pit, and seating areas around the yard.NEIGHBORHOOD Nestled just north of Kaaterskill Wild Forest, the house is also just a 30 min drive to Windham Mountain and approximately 40 min drive to Hunter Mountain. The location is perfect for winter skiing, sledding, and snowboarding. In the fall, hike below the beautiful foliage, and in the spring/summer be sure to check out the nearby swimming holes, more hiking, antiquing, and local farms & vineyards.Groceries & ConvenienceHannaford Supermarket (15 min drive)Your best bet for groceries is in the area. For most of the hike the Long Path follows the Sleepy Hollow Horse Trail, the route of the old Harding Road that led from Palenville to the Hotel Kaaterskill. Access the trailhead on Rt 23A in Palenville, just west of the "Entering Catskill Park" sign. At the bottom you will find Kaaterskill Creek for swimming at the bottom. We can typically accommodate up to the max number of guests noted on the original listing and no more. Keep your belongings safe and secure by remembering to close and lock all the doors and windows before leaving the property.CHECK OUTOur check-out time is at 11:00 AM. Please make sure to do the dishes (it’s ok to place the remaining dishes in the dishwasher and start the cycle), take the trash out and close the door before leaving. Don’t forget to do a final walk-through of the house to make sure you haven’t left behind any personal items.RECYCLINGGuests can leave the recycling items on a separate bag in the house. We will make every effort to search and find your forgotten items after you check out but we do not guarantee if they can be found.HOT TUBOur property does list a Hot Tub as an amenity and is typically available for use. In rare instances, a prior guest may mistreat the tub, requiring us to put it out of service until we can have it properly cleaned out. Because of this we don't guarantee its availability. Please note that we provide towels for the maximum number of guests the house can accommodate, these towels are also for the hot tub too.FRIENDS OF MOTHER NATUREPlease note that we are located in the countryside, surrounded by trees and foliage. Although we have regularly scheduled pest control services in and around the home and yard, you are still likely to see a few insects or other living beings from Mother Nature. We ask that you do your best to keep outside doors closed as much as possible to limit the amount of outdoor creatures from sneaking in.PETSWe love pets and allow them in our houses, but please let us know if your are bringing your furry friend(s) along. Please understand that all of our furniture and decor is new and pets are not allowed on the furniture or beds. You will be responsible for any visible wear or damage your pets may cause. The maximum number of pets we allow is two.REPAIRS AND MAINTENANCEWe cannot guarantee against mechanical failure of heating, air conditioning, appliances, TVs/media equipment, stereo equipment or pools/spas. Please report any inoperative equipment to us promptly. We will make every reasonable effort to have repairs done quickly and efficiently. If you demonstrate that the problem persists after being given phone instructions by our team, a maintenance service professional may be dispatched. NO REFUNDS OR RENT REDUCTIONS WILL BE MADE DUE TO MECHANICAL FAILURES OR MALFUNCTIONS, INTERRUPTIONS OF UTILITIES, MAINTENANCE PROBLEMS OR CONSTRUCTION IN THE AREA. WHILE LINA WILL MAKE EVERY EFFORT TO REPAIR ANY MAINTENANCE ISSUE IN A TIMELY MANNER, IT CANNOT GUARANTEE THAT THE ISSUE WILL BE FIXED DURING A GUEST STAY, AS THE COMPANY MAY HAVE TO GO THROUGH HOME WARRANTIES. Please do not leave trash or cigarette butts around the area.4. We kindly ask that you clean the BBQ with the grill brush after use.5. Smoking is not permitted inside any of our homes or interior spaces (including cigarettes, ecigs, etc). If you must smoke, please be sure to stay at least 20’ away from the house so the smell doesn’t waft in. You will be responsible for any smoke damage to the interior of the house, even if it's from smoke outside drafting in. If you smoke outside, please do not leave any butts or trash behind. This is a home and we’d like you to treat it as such.6. The Hot Tub is provided for your use and the water has been treated to ensure it is correctly balanced. If used respectfully, there should be no need for additional maintenance visits. Hot tubs pose similar risks to swimming pools, as well as having their own dangers, please enjoy responsibly. Overuse or abuse will also cause the tub water to turn cloudy and may render the tub unusable. Tubs that require excessive cleaning will be emptied and cleaned at the expense of the guest.7. We kindly ask that you inspect the house upon check in and let us know if there are any damages. If damage is reported late or after check out, you will be held accountable.
