Family Camp Rental on Private Lake in the Adirondack Mountains, New York
"Coming from the city, everything about this area is serene. Jim and Lynn give excellent directions, are super accommodating, and I feel like they’re …"
Set at the far north end of a wilderness lake mingling with the Adirondack mountains near the Canadian border, this A-frame rental can sleep ten in a king-bed and queen-bed pullout – a twin-bedded room – a queen-bed - double-bed. The master couple takes the Lakeside Bungalow, a short walk down from the main house. Several hardy campers of any age can take their own sleeping bags and use the queen-mattress with mosquito netting at Lean-to Island,. The canoes are there and the swimming dock; an open campfire and rustic privy.
Elevated on a promontory this family A-frame dwelling offers panoramic views with floor-to-ceiling windows framing the fireplace. There is a galley-style kitchen with a dishwasher, a four-burner electric stove and oven, and a full-size refrigerator/freezer plus another in adjacent woodshed . Additionally, guests will have 2 coffee makers, a tea kettle, toaster, crock-pot, bakeware, casserole pans, nice cookware, glassware, cutlery and dinnerware, paper products and more to make a fully appointed venue.
Just out the kitchen door guests find a private deck with a gas grill for St. Regis Mt. sunset suppers and campfire nights watching the moon rise. Other guests may enjoy dining with nicely appointed accessories before an open fireplace. The rustic wood floors show Nepalese rugs and the ceilings are high, making for the cozy loft and traditional camp sleeping porch. There is electric heat and on-demand gas hot water for luxurious baths in the 6 ft. antique tub. Verizon phone reception and free wi-fi.
The King suite with a queen-size pull-out couch has an outside entrance. Its Jack and Jill bathroom with shower and washer/dryer connects through to the Twin room – which leads through to the main living and dining area. The second bathroom is accessed from the main living areas and is a bathroom for the queen and the double bed folks up in the loft.
The Lakeside Master Cabin down a path from the main house has a balcony right over the lake. This guest cabin cost is in the price quote included for large parties and is available for $100.00 surcharge per night for smaller groups. Bungalow option is available only to guests in the main house. It remains from last century's original Adirondack camp and, besides original architectural finishes, has a gas fireplace, a toilet and a cold-water sink. There is also a small refrigerator and coffee/tea making. Find all original glass windows overlooking a surrounding deck and authentic Mission-style fixtures. Guests staying there often enjoy morning coffee on its balcony as the morning sun reflects off the lake.
A canoe is included for exploring the St. Regis Lakes Canoe Wilderness. The property owners provide arrival and departure motor boat service or guests may launch their own craft.
