Outdoor lovers will love watching the sunset on Lake Superior's beautiful shores, and there are miles of hiking trails to take, depending on guests' preference. For those who want to experience more exciting activities, the Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park, or "the Porkies" as it is popularly called by locals, is the place to visit in these parts. It is home to the Porcupine Mountains Ski Area—a mecca for winter sports, such as skiing and snowmobiling.

There are also many hiking and mountain biking trails to choose from that will take guests deep into the woods and offer them amazing views of the area. There are several bodies of water in the park, too, which are all excellent for canoe and kayak adventures.
