49 miles straight-line distance79 kilometers straight-line distanceThis accommodation is located in Breckenridge, Colorado, where it is conveniently situated just a short walk from the Beaver Run lift and the Quicksilver lift of the Breckenridge Ski Resort, providing quick access to the resort's renowned slopes. The property is just a five-minute drive from the Breckenridge Nordic Center and the Breckenridge Ski Resort, and it is about a mile from the Cucumber Gulch Wildlife Preserve. At the latter, guests will find hiking, biking, and cross-country skiing trails that wind through 77 acres of wetlands, which provide habitats to boreal toads, beavers, and 47 species of birds. At the Breckenridge Ski Resort, in turn, guests will find some of the most sought-after slopes in the state of Colorado. Boasting five peaks, 187 trails, 3,398 feet of vertical rise, and 2,908 acres of skiable terrain, the resort is certainly one of Breckenridge's premier attractions.
However, there is much more to the area than just world-class skiing and snowboarding; Breckenridge is also a gateway to the surrounding White River National Forest, the most visited national forest in the entire United States. Here, guests will find a vast, 2.3-million-acre expanse of forested foothills, mountains, and valleys interspersed with alpine lakes, streams, and rivers. Exploring its extensive, 2,500-mile network of trails, guests will pass many scenic vistas and will encounter some of the abundant wildlife that calls the forest home, such as deer, elk, moose, mountain goats, and mountain sheep.
About seven miles to the north of Breckenridge, guests will find the Dillon Reservoir (also known as Lake Dillon). Encompassing 3,233 acres of pristine water full of rainbow trout, providing visitors with two full-service marinas from which they can rent watercraft, and featuring 26.8 miles of shoreline surrounded by hiking, biking, and snowmobiling trails, the reservoir is a popular, year-round destination for outdoor recreation. At its southern end, the reservoir flows out into the Blue River, which provides prime spots for fly fishing and whitewater rafting.
Finally, the town of Breckenridge is an attraction in its own right. Arising from a mining camp in the mid-19th century, the 45-block, nationally registered historic district of the town retains its Gold Rush-era, Victorian-style architecture, which today houses numerous restaurants, bars, live music venues, boutiques, art galleries, and spas.
The accommodation is about an hour and 30 minutes from Denver, where guests will find the nearest international airport.Activities near Breckenridge
