Try a wine tasting and vineyard tour at Sutcliffe Vineyards, which is located seven minutes from the accommodation. Explore ancient ruins and rock art panels at Mesa Verde National Park, Hovenweep National Monument, Canyons of the Ancients National Monument, Anasazi Heritage Center, Canyon de Chelly, Valley of the Gods, and Monument Valley.

Head out horseback riding on a neighboring ranch that offers half-day, full-day, and overnight camp-out trips on horseback. Hiking and mountain biking are also popular activities, and there are a variety of mountain biking trails nearby, like Phil’s World Mountain Bike Trail.

Visit the world-famous Durango-Silverton Railroad, help out on the ranch with the daily chores of feeding the animals and weeding the gardens (fun for kids!), go for a soak in the nearby hot springs in Durango and Pagosa Springs, or ski and snowboard down Purgatory Mountain, right outside of Durango, or in Telluride.
