34 miles straight-line distance54 kilometers straight-line distanceThis tiny house is located on a 35-acre ranch in Del Norte, Colorado, where it is surrounded by a wide-open landscape full of peaceful meadows studded with verdant shrubs and craggy outcroppings. From the ranch, guests can enjoy views of the San Juan Mountains and the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. It is situated in a valley in which there are only two other homesteads. The hosts live further up on the ranch, along with six dogs, seven cats, chickens, a turkey, four miniature ponies, and four goats, who guests can see from the windows of the tiny house.
Immediately to the west, guests will find Rio Grande National Forest. Covering 1.83 million acres of wilderness, the forest encompasses many different ecosystems, ranging from foothills covered in pinyon pine and juniper trees to alpine tundra. Within the forest, about an hour to the southwest, guests will find the Wolf Creek Ski Area. The Continental Divide Trail also cuts through the forest and runs by the ranch.
Downtown Del Norte is about 20 minutes to the south, where guests will find shops and restaurants, more of which can be found in the neighboring towns of South Fork and Monte Vista. The site is about four hours from Denver, where the nearest international airport is located.Activities near Del Norte
